Peter Occhiogrosso I'd go to Barsoom and search for Tars Tarkas and Rebazar Tarzs. And then prepare for the landing of a space rocket sent by Elon Musk.
Peter Occhiogrosso "Groovin' at Slugs': A Memoir of Downtown Manhattan Music in the 1970s"

The 1970s in Downtown Manhattan were way wilder than the '60s: more creative, more varied, more sex and drugs and rock and roll. And more jazz, for that matter. I spent the decade living and writing about that scene, first as a jazz critic, then as Music Editor for a small but influential arts newspaper called the Soho Weekly News. I was suddenly thrust into the world of punk rock and new wave and discovered that I actually dug the music, not to mention the fringe benefits. At the same time I gave unique coverage to the evolving jazz scene that came to be known as Loft Jazz, but encompassed so much more. "Groovin' at Slugs'" is a highly personal account of those years and the characters who made them so exceptional.
Peter Occhiogrosso Never turn down an assignment. Don't write only about what you know. Read everything you can.
Peter Occhiogrosso I don't have a magic bullet. Usually I sit there and work on something else. I might write in my journal, and then move to an ongoing revision of a past book I'm updating for a ebook edition ("The Joy of Sects," to be specific). Or play Hungry Shark Evolution on my phone. Yes, I know that's cheating. I went to parochial school and learned that cheating can be a form of survival.
