Making observations in real life and seeing the same things in your stories and characters--it lets you know you're telling truth in the lies.
Cooking along writing scenes, building tension and conflict, and realizing the dots actually connect--the midpoint falls in the middle of the story, the final piece falls into place just as the third act begins, etc.

It is more painful not to write than it is to sit my butt down and get to work.
I also see storytelling a privilege. I am honored to spend time with these characters and share their stories with readers.

So I thought: "Why not write a new series for readers to enjoy?"
That got the ball rolling, and hopefully Akon's Mission will be the first book in that series.

Right now I'm writing the first book in a series of historical thrillers about a Spartan warrior selected for the krypteia, Sparta's version of Special Forces, on the eve of the Peloponnesian War. It is called Akon's Mission, and I'm having a blast with it.
