LOL!!
I'm glad you find the books suspenseful, Connie - it means my hard work is paying off. Sweet Endings is actually on pre-order right now and though it says Dec 15th - my goal is to get it released for the end of Nov. If I didn't have a family deal and a trip in the middle of Oct, It would be earlier but editors and proofreaders have their own schedules and so I wait.... sigh!! Here's the link if you want to know you'll be getting it as soon as it's released
Hugs,
Mimi

Since I'm the founder of the group, I will be reading the 6 box collections that the Authors' Billboard has recently released. They are all 99 cents collections that are well worth the money - 6 or more novels are featured in all the sets.

Hi Joss, I'm so sorry I didn't see this question until today when there was another one.
I actually don't live in Vancouver - but on Vancouver Island in a place called Qualicum Beach. I'm glad you like Edmonton. I have a nephew who moved there a few years ago and they are loving it too.
I'm sure you'll find a group of authors there - especially in the city. Try Googling RWA Chapter and see if that helps (Romance Writers of America). Let me know if you find anyone.
As for starting a local group, we did it a few years ago. First we went to the library and put up a sign for the first meeting. Usually, the public library will let you use their meeting rooms for free to a non-profit group - especially writers and book lovers. I think 4 people showed up to the first meeting. Then all of us put it on Facebook and in the local newspaper and it just blossomed from there. We now have over 45 members.
So good luck with you're group.
Take care,
Hugs,
Mimi

LOL! I lead a very unexciting life at the moment but in my earlier years my husband and I lived in other countries such as Chile and Africa. Though I've used the Chilean flavor in some of my stories like "I'm No Angel" and "The Surrogate's Secret", I've not yet used my experiences in Guinea in a plot. It could be done but I'm just not sure others would find it as interesting as I did. It's one of those - you have to have been there to appreciate it - kind of situations.
You've heard the old saying - life is stranger than fiction? Well, I get a lot of my character's personalities from the people around me - it's the conflicts that come from my imagination, Global news and watching cop shows on TV.
