I'm currently working on three writing projects. I just finished a family devotional on the book of Proverbs called Wise Up. It will be released by New Growth Press in the fall. I'm working on a companion New Testament devotional on the Parables. The working title is Listen Up.
Finally, I am in the editing stage of an allegory I wrote entitled Dragon Seed. The book tells the story of redemption from the perspective of the Gadarene demoniac. He tells the story of the Dragon Lord (Satan); his fall from grace and rise to evil power over the earth and his eventual destruction. The book is a middle fiction designed to inform middle school students and Jr. High on the dangers of pride.

I like to encourage aspiring writers not to give up. Continue writing and reading. Read books of writers in your genre that write more effectively than you do. Observe their strengths and learn from them.

While sitting in my favorite chair, early one morning during devotions, I got the idea for writing a theology book for children. The name The Ology popped into my mind. I jumped off the chair to grab a piece of paper and scribbled out a quick storyboard for the topics I wanted to cover. I began the story with two children finding an old book in a pile of rubble, reminiscent of the book of the law found in the Temple during Josiah's reign. The title and the opening story held through the writing process with the pile of rubble transformed into a hidden room in an old church basement.
