Kelly McClymer I just found a list of questions I never saw before! This is a great question. There is actually a mystery in my life (via my mom) that would make an excellent book. My mom and her twin sister were the youngest of 7 children. Their mom and dad were separated for as long as my mom could remember. No one else in the family would talk to the dad (my great grandad). But my mom remembers being walked by one of her brothers to a spot where their dad would pick them up for a visit. When she was much older, she asked two of her brothers what had happened to make everyone hate their dad. They wouldn't tell her. ...and now they are all gone, so it would take a detective to figure it out.
Kelly McClymer All I need to do to start writing is think about my characters and what is happening to them (a little like turning on the TV to see where your favorite series characters are).
Kelly McClymer I'm currently finishing up my overdue Secret Shopper Mom book #3 (fell down the stairs and broke my wrist, as well as gave myself a nice concussion). I'm also getting ready to re-launch my EverTwixt serialization Once Upon a Witch's Moon.
Kelly McClymer Telling my stories, my way is the best thing about being a writer. I have discovered that nobody else see things quite like I do. I can also tell my stories in serial form now, if I want (like I'm doing for my EverTwixt world), or in novels (like my Secret Shopper Mom books), or short story, if I want.
Kelly McClymer Just do it. You can fix a bad page, but a blank page will always be blank.
Kelly McClymer Move from one project to another.
Kelly McClymer For Shop and Let Die, most most recent book, I worked as a mystery shopper (yes, it is a real thing, not a scam :-). Lots of interesting real-life details to add to the story of a mom trying to balance family life, work, and finding a serial killer.
