Heather Thurmeier Hi Kate, I just saw this. Thank you for letting me know about this issue! I'll definitely try to get this link fixed ASAP! The book is available on amazon if you search either my name or the book title. So sorry the inconvenience!
Heather Thurmeier Hi Laurie! No need to ask a question. Saying hi is just fine with me! Always happy to chat with new reader friends. :) Looking forward to reading by the pool all summer!
Heather Thurmeier Inspiration comes from all kinds of places. Sometimes it's a dream I wake up from. Sometimes it's people-watching out in public. Other times it's just a really cool character I think of then wonder what kind of situation I'd like to see them in. Regardless of where the initial inspiration comes from, the end result is also a process of asking myself questions and diving deeper until I find the right characters, plot, and conflict.
Heather Thurmeier I keep writing because I love it! Writing is incredibly fulfilling, frustrating, and rewarding. There have been times when I've thought about giving it up and not writing another book, but the feeling always passes. At the end of the day, writing isn't something I do, it's a part of who I am.
Heather Thurmeier I try to push through it. Force yourself to make progress, even if it's just a tiny bit. If that doesn't work, take a walk, clean something, go have coffee with a friend. Sometimes a mind focused on another task will think of just the write thing you need next for your story. If all else fails, set it aside and work on a new scene. That's my least favorite option. I like to work through the issues as they come up, not set them aside. Even if the solutions I come up with isn't perfect, at least it's a starting point for later.
Heather Thurmeier Just go for it! Don't let insecurity, doubts, or what-ifs get in your way. If you have an idea for a book, put your butt in a chair and start writing. Write often, as much as you can. The more you write the easier it will become. Don't worry about whether or not it's good. Just get the words on the page. They'll probably suck. But that's okay! You can edit it all later.
Heather Thurmeier The freedom to work at my own pace (Within deadline limits, of course!), and create my own schedule so that my work fits in with the rest of my life. I can be a full-time stay at home mom and a full-time writer at the same time!
