What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Angelo Mifsud I live in Australia and we are opposite to the Northern Hemisphere and are heading into Winter. My reading list is mainly research for my next novel but I will continue reading to finish my history books I'm currently reading.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Angelo Mifsud There are a few but one that I'd like to do is one about my grandfather who went to Brazil and was lost in the Amazon Jungle.

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Angelo Mifsud My favourite two authors are Agatha Christie because of her simple but effective plots which are unique and logical. The other author is Graeme Green who writes with so much imagery that you feel you are there.

How do you get inspired to write?
Angelo Mifsud I wake up every morning ready to go.

What are you currently working on?
Angelo Mifsud Currently I am working on the sequel to Inheritance and then a whole heap of other stories to share.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Angelo Mifsud Just write and don't let anyone deter your mission. Get that story out there.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Angelo Mifsud The best thing for me is that a get a real buzz from putting pen to paper - or fingers to the keyboard and watch the story evolve.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Angelo Mifsud I don't seem to suffer that affliction. I wish I did as I have trouble keeping ideas for stories out of my head.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Angelo Mifsud A colleague and I we're talking during a break, this was in 1977, about writing a novel. I said that it was easy to write a novel. My colleague gave a long stare and then said, "okay if it's that easy write one." Well, shock horror, I was surprised but as I always wanted to have a go I agreed.
Then over the next 30 years I tinkered with it until I retired in 2008 and then I was determined to finish it. And I'm pleased to say I have met the challenge and proud of my achievement.
