Hi Mary,
I will check out your blog. While I lived in California I worked at the Whaley House. I moved to Virginia in May after getting my MA in history from San Diego State University, and now live in Caroline County, I just applied to work at the Mary Washington House.

I am currently working on the diary of a Civil War solider named James Myers. He was from Pennsylvania and fought for the Union during the war serving as a hospital steward for his regiment. What is fascinating is that many of the places that he visited during the war are now within a short distance of my home in Virginia.
