L.A. Starkey Hi Ed!

My two girls are actually a good mix for my protagonist in Deceived and I've been very crafty about putting my families names in all of my books in various ways.

The only true to form character is my brother - he's in several books, all of them with him being a player, a punk or a bully. He's none of those things and yet all. HAHA! I love the fact that I can pull a "gotcha!" and he doesn't even get it.

Thanks for asking!

Laurie
L.A. Starkey Hi Lozzi. Thanks for reading the book. :)

I actually don't. They are one boy in my mind, so like I love my 3 kids the same, I love them equally. I'd like to date Nick and marry Marcus! Haha..

What about you? Who did you favor at the end of book one? Let me see if my charms worked.
L.A. Starkey My everyday life inspires me. There are people, events, places and occurrences happening around all of us - all of the time. Art, music, other books and the laughter around my table at lunch or in the evenings is inspiration. The more you let filter into your senses the more you can compress those things to paint a picture that is realistic enough to hold your audience and yet whimsical enough to give them wings.

I am inspired by life in general.
L.A. Starkey You.

You reading the creation and enjoying it. I read to escape and feel a flutter in my chest at the possibilities of the book coming to life and me getting to play a part in it. I pray that's what my readers get as well - the opportunity for just a moment in time to believe in something seemingly unreachable.
L.A. Starkey I'm working on "Destroyed", book II in the Soul Keeper Series, and hoping I can start editing "Howl at the Moon," book I in my middle-grade supernatural series. It's hardy boys meets teenwolf.

I have about 25 ideas for other books, but live a crazy life and need more time in my day or a cloning machine. Anyone see one on ebay?
L.A. Starkey Just do it. Write and write and write some more. Don't worry about whether you can spell or if your grammar is craptasic (me!). Just let yourself slide into the story and show us (your readers) what you see, feel, hear, taste and what the world you've created looks like. After you create then go back and work on all of the tedious stuff. The best part of writing a story is sharing it with those that you love and having them swoon over it or become concerned that THAT! was in your head. :)
L.A. Starkey I rarely get it. I'm one of those weird individuals who everyone whispers, "Slow down!" and I can do nothing but laugh. I'm thinking I'll run out of energy and ideas in the next ten years, but if I did have writer's block, I'd promp myself to write through emotions created in listening to a song or seeing a picture/image.
