I've just returned from a trip to Cuba and feel as though I could write a book about it - an amazing, fascinating country. I am counting my blessings living in America, with all of its warts. Here's a link to the Wandering Cuba blog:

Writers sometimes get slammed, and it's not limited to reviews. I found myself in the fishbowl recently, slammed on a topic that is emotional :)

Every once in a while we get an unexpected gift that just blows us away. That is the case with a video that friends created to promote my novel, Taming Me: Memoir of a Clever Island Cat. It's on the book page here and on YouTube. I think you might agree that it is fantastic!

Free-roaming cats have been getting blasted in the news lately, thanks to the questionable extrapolations contained in a report released by the Smithsonian Institute. As an advocate of Trap-Neuter-Return for feral cats, I'm hoping to help counteract the fallout with a giveaway of Taming Me. It's a suspense novel that includes, along the way, insight on the positive outcomes of TNR - for cats, humans, and wildlife. Working together, rather than in opposition, we can create a safer, healthier outdoors for everyone.

I am reviewing a book today that is out of my usual tastes, but was written by a new acquaintance so I gave it a whirl. And it turned out to be a fascinating read. So nice to interact with other authors and readers as it does widen the literary horizons!! Thanks to all of you.

The official day is over (and some of us are thankful for that!) but here is to giving thanks all year long for the friends and family who grace our lives, and all the blessings we are privileged to enjoy - which includes good books to read :)

Here's hoping that everyone hit by Sandy is recovering nicely. It's a long road for many.
