What is the glowing/pulsing presence in the sewers? This occurs right before being 'saved' by Birdie. What exactly is Odd being saved from?

Does it make a big difference if I haven't read the preceeding books ?

Wise Cat It's been years since I last read from this series and I just got back to it with Odd Hours. Not as good as the first three. I don't think it makes a â€¦m´Ç°ù±ðIt's been years since I last read from this series and I just got back to it with Odd Hours. Not as good as the first three. I don't think it makes a big difference but you'll miss out on the backstory of characters and past events.(less)

The next one is way out there. I liked this one though. It had alot of good Oddisms. I think this is a transitional book. He needed to introduce Annamarie and move the story to the next level which is a doozy.

Wise Cat It feels that way to me too, as a lot was unexplained and it ended open ended. :-( Because I like Odd, I'll continue with the series.
