Has anyone else had a problem with the concept at the end where 2 people could leave someplace same day same time, same conveyance (I'm being a bit obscure here so as not to give too much away) and when they meet up again, one has been at the new destination for decades and the other only for months? Really bothered me.

Can one read the other books (like this one) before they read the other 2, or do they have to be read in order?

Is this a trilogy, or a longer series?
