I was watching a video review of this book and while the person generally liked it, she said there was one moment where the author's humor went too far and she made a joke that was insensitive, enough so that the reviewer didn't want to repeat it. any ideas what she was referring to? It wouldn't necessarily make me not want to read it, but I'd just like to know before going in.

The audiobook is read by the author, and her voice conveyed compassion about the mother being wrongfully convicted of having murdered her child when, in fact, it was a wild animal who killed the child.(less)

Would this book be understood and enjoyed by a tween-ages? My son loves stories like this but wondering if it is written in a way this age could understand and enjoy?
