Devin Blue was born in south Florida to Midwest transplant parents. After a difficult upbringing in a broken home, he, his mother, and his brother moved to western Minnesota to start a new life at the tender age of eight. While growing up in a MN/ND border town, he would travel back to Florida to visit his father and step mother for four months a year. The years were filled with dysfunction and then another divorce he eventually succumbed to.
It was those years and the turbulent 20's that made him the man he is today. An advocate for mental health, positive thinking, and a strong supporter of solid values; he works today as an author to fully assist others in making important life decisions that will positively affect their existence overall.

This book was a major let down to me. I've done a lot of research and like self help books. This one was beyond basic and didn't provide me anything new. It was a quick read which I guess is good. I don't really recommend it though, there are much better books, even articles out there that provide better info.

Repetitive

Though I guess that's the point, to drill it into your mind. Short book, I love long informative books that help you better yourself but this one was to short for my taste.

I felt this book lacked a lot of information, since they could have went more in depth, but it is a quick read to get some key points of defining your values in life. If you have a few minutes, that's how long it takes to read, I recommend this book.

Help in rearranging one's values

This is a very short book by Devin Blue that aims at helping one analyze their life in order to change and re-order areas for greater success. He believes the starting point is having empathy whereby we treat others the way we would appreciate being treated. This book is introspective and honesty is essential for diagnosing maladies and then exchanging one's current value system for a more efficient set of standards.

Blue stresses the necessity of ridding oneself of toxic relationships. He believes once values are adjusted that real friends will remain that have the same value set. To help the reader there will be a section entitled pitfalls in one's values worth considering. The importance of being authentic when relating to others is heavily stressed. He feels we should accept ourselves for who we are, what God created us to become, and to live out that gift. " For every second, minute, and hour you pretend to be someone who you aren't you're wasting away the very life that was gifted to you".
There will be an action plan you can follow to implement your new value system at the end of the book.

Author Devin Blue lives today to encourage and inspire others. A product of a dysfunctional home his research and mission extends towards bettering the lives of others. Though informative, I didn't feel it had the depth and range of content to award it five stars. This book can easily be ready in 30 minutes.
