Forever Wilde #2

Felix and the Prince

Rate this book
Felix

Things I expect to find at Gadleigh Castle:
- Rare stained glass, the subject of my dissertation.
- Peace and quiet, to finish said dissertation.
- An escape from the paparazzi swarming around my starlet mother’s latest blockbuster release.

Things I don’t expect to find:
- A hidden door leading to a secret room.
- The most gorgeous man I’ve ever set eyes on.
- Love.

Lio

Things I know are expected of me in life:
- One day soon I will become the King of Liorland.
- I will marry a nice woman who will become queen.
- I will provide heirs to my family’s monarchy.

Reasons that might be difficult
- I’m gay.
- I’m falling in love with Felix Wilde.
- He has no idea I’m royal.

While it can definitely be read on its own, Felix and the Prince is the second novel in the new Forever Wilde series about the huge Wilde family from Hobie, Texas, whose patriarchs aren’t above a little meddling if that’s what it takes to help their grandkids find true love. Beware: nekkid man parts touch. Let's just say, Felix gets royally screwed in the very best way.

Reasons why:

-Michael Pauley + Lucy Lennox = my crack.

-Felix the geek and Lio the Prince

-The book is cute, and adorable.

-The story is unbelievable and OTT but i did not care, after all it is a modern fairy tale

-The chemistry between Felix and Lio was believable and the sex so Hot!

-The secondary characters were amazing, i loved the Wilde family, Lio's sister the people working at the palace.

-Doc and Grandpa are the best, and their love for their children and grandchildren is amazing, how I wish we to read their story.

“We raised you, son, Grandpa said in a quiet voice. “Of course we knew. Let’s get you home.

- I want Otto's story like yesterday.

This was super, super cute and so Adorable....

That was my heart right there, and it was walking around free as if it didn’t belong in the center of my chest.

More pics...

This is,

-super cute,

-sexy.....these boys are on fire,I didn't skim anything at all and,for me,that's it......this Author can deliver on the sex scenes,

-dirty talk,

-ok,so the story might be a bit unbelievable in the real world but it's fiction and it totally worked for me,

-and some of the best supporting characters I've read about,

If you're after a bit of escapism with some gorgeous men I would definitely recommend this one...

Felix and the Prince is Adorable (yes, with a capital A)! Felix is all shy and bashful until the clothes come off, then he's insatiable.

Prince Lio, soon to be king of a fictional European country (supposedly Monaco, but not really) falls for Felix the minute he sets eyes on him. But Lio has escaped to Gadleigh to get his head on straight (pun mostly unintended), which means no more gay liaisons and certainly no pesky feelings.

Lennox knows her way around a sex scene. Talk about sex on fire! 🔥 🔥 🔥 These boys get it on on every conceivable surface, and if rimming's your thing, you won't be disappointed.

Thumbs up for the steam, humour, great secondary characters, and googly-eyed HEA!

I especially liked Lio's valet Arthur and hope he gets a story of his own.

Doc and Grandpa make an appearance too, but this book works as a standalone. West and Nico, the MCs from book 1, are barely mentioned.

My only complaint is that the ending was too drawn out. Usually, I bitch about abrupt endings, but once the guys left the castle, there was a lot of stupid behaviour I could have done without.

Felix tucked tail and ran, and Lio . . . UGH, the less said about that the better. Felix's mom showing up was entirely unnecessary; the story didn't need the extra drama.

Prepare to put on your fiction shades and just go with it. Nope, the plot is not realistic, not even a little bit. But who cares? Not me. 😃

Four solid 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ! I had a lot of fun with this one!

Part of me thinks this story is great, with the stained glass details, the royal + commoner plotline, and, oh yeah, the super hot sex (!), but another part of me is eye-rolling for days.

I think this might be my first , and I'm not sure if this book is typical for her writing style or not. In any case, was a sweet, sexy, easy read that I'm sure will please a lot of people. However, it had a few things that really irked me.

For one, the insta-love is too much. Seriously. the super hot royal falls for the geeky, shy guy and *has* to have him after just one meeting together. I've read books like that time and time again, and I'm not a fan. I like interest to build over time, and I personally prefer a slow burn.

Also, was I the only reader who thought that Lio treated Felix like crap?? He does so many crappy things like lie and gaslight him, and Felix just forgives him time and time again. Don't even get me started on when Lio invited Felix to Liorland for "moral support" and made him suffer through pretending they were just friends (among other things, I won't do any spoilers). It felt icky to me.

I liked Felix's family and I liked all of the side characters, and it was a pleasant and entertaining read, but I was far from in love. I'm curious about 's other books and if they will work for me (stay tuned!).

What a sweet and charming story! 💙 I’ve always loved stories and it’s a known fact that I absolutely loved her “Made Marian series. 😉 Especially Borrowing Blue and Jumping Jude. 😍 She just has such a great sense of humor and all her MCs are not only witty and funny but also very likable and attractive. And talk about pairing her works with the amazing Michael Pauley’s narration! 😱 Eargasms guys! Eargasms! 😂👏 That being said, this book totally caught my attention even just with the title. Who doesn’t love royal romance?! 😏 And let’s just say my expectations were met. 😉

Felix, a socially awkward chemist who’s studying for his PHD in glassmaking. As a son of a very famous Hollywood actress, he has been battling with paparazzis for all his life. With the release of his mom’s upcoming blockbuster, he decided to visit Gadleigh Castle for the holidays to study rare stained glasses as well as avoiding from the media attention. Talk about one bird two stones, right? 😉 And then, instead of finding the rarest, the most beautiful stained glasses in the world, he met a drop-dead gorgeous man sitting in an overstuffed armchair in a secret chamber. 😱 Is he hallucinating a fallen angel or is that man real? 😉

Lio aka Lior aka the crown prince of the Liorland, an undoubtedly closeted gay guy who’s about to ascend the throne very soon. He knows he’s going to become King one day but he didn’t think it was going to be this soon. 😁 He needed to escape from everything for a while before he has to shoulder this huge responsibility. And Gadleigh castle has always been his favorite vacation home. 😍 He had accepted and made peace with the fact that he has to marry a woman one day and make heirs for the sake of his bloodline and the monarchy. Escaping to Gadleigh castle is the last resort to make final peace with that fact. And then he met a very cute, very beautiful and very charmingly nerdy guy on the tiny island where there’s supposed to be no attractive men. 😁 And it was love at first sight! 😍

Opposites do attract and Felix and Lio were inexplicably drawn to each other. But one man lives in a tiny town in Texas while the other lives in an opulent palace in Monaco. 😭 And Felix has no idea that man he just slept with is an actual prince! 😱 Even if it’s acceptable for a King to be gay, Felix isn’t going to feel like he’s worthy of being a partner/consort of a king. It’s undoubtedly going to be a lot more easier if they just go their separate ways. 😢 But a vacation lust is turning out to be a true love situation. And it’s time Lio faces the real question his heart has been asking insistently. His soulmate or his kingdom? ❤️

I had a few problems with Lio being indecisive in the beginning. But after a while, I made peace with him since I can’t imagine how difficult it’s going to be for him in that situation. I absolutely love Felix, he’s an ultimate sweetheart character. 😍 And Lio redeemed himself more than enough later. Although this is an insta-love story, the plot was well-constructed and the storyline is interesting. 👍 And did I say about the sexual attraction between these two guys? Sizzling! 🔥 The lovemakings were very hot and it’s even better because it’s MP narrating. 😉 And the HEA? It was the sweetest and most romantic! I also really appreciate that included an epilogue in the end. 😌 I really want a novella about the whole Wilde gang visiting Felix and Lio in their palace in Monaco. I think that’s going to be such an interesting read. 😁

Favorite excerpts from the novel: 💗💜💗

If Gadleigh Castle was, in some way, the love of my life, the treasury room was its very heart.

A stupid gathering of brain cheerleaders shook their asses and cheered loudly in my psyche. Gonna get fucked! Can I get an F? Can I get a U? Can I

“I want you to own me, Lio, I whispered. My whole body trembled with need and fear of his reaction. “I want you to hold me down and fuck me so hard, I can barely breathe without feeling your cock shove deeper inside me. I want you to make it hurt a little so I feel it for days and days. I want you to I want to… I sucked in a breath. “I don’t know how to say it. I want you inside my body, and I don’t ever want you to leave it, Lio. Make me yours in a way no one else can, okay?

My Etienne -whose heart shined like colored glass in the sun.

“I love you, he said. “Of all the vows I spoke during my coronation mass and all the promises I made to the people of Liorland in my speech, do not doubt that those three words I say to you now are the most important ones I said today. Do you understand?

“My king, he whispered. I closed my eyes, leaning into his warm touch. “And you’re mine.

Lucy Lennox, I’m positively gaga over your heart-warming, humorous, and downright HOT brand of M/M romance, and this, my dear, was the best of your best!

The title here says it all, with Felix Wilde, of the lovable Wilde clan from small-town Hobie, Texas, meeting and falling head over heels in love with his very own Prince Charming, prince Lio of Monaco. The two cross serendipitous paths in a gorgeous and isolated Scottish castle, owned by the royal family, where Lio is hiding away in preparation for his upcoming coronation, while Felix is visiting to study the glass-works for his dissertation.

When Felix and Lio first meet, Felix has no clue Lio is a prince. There is a bit of deception on Lio’s part, but he’s just so eager to be with someone who holds no expectations about who he is; in Felix’s company Lio can be his true self for the first time in his life, royal responsibilities and future expectations be damned. Needless to say they fall hard and fast for one another, but once the truth of Lio’s position becomes known to Felix, the pair find themselves facing some major relationship hurdles while they battle with their feelings and decide whether they can even realistically be together.

I loved every second of Felix and Lio’s love story. Although their road to happiness was strewn with many obstacles some obstacles weighing upon them from external sources and some caused by their own making I found myself relishing this specific brand of relationship angst, eagerly gobbling up the pages as their romance unfolded. The fact that their HEA was reached in spectacular and memorable fashion only added to my overall enjoyment of this book.

At the core of it, this story was like a steamier and more hilarious version of a fairy-tale romance. The whole ‘falling for a royal thing is what dreams are made of, and the way Felix and Lio’s story played out was one big romantic and swoon-worthy affair that put most (if not all) of the romances I’ve ever read involving this trope to shame.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t also take the time to give a shout-out to the fabulous cast of secondary characters that graced the pages of this story. The Wilde family as a whole are uproariously entertaining and endlessly lovable, but the members of Lio’s staff, as well as his dear sister, provided plenty of extra warmth and humour to Felix and Lio's romantic tale.

Needless to say, I adored this story. I have no doubt Felix and Lio’s romance will be one I keenly remember and revisit often. <3

Audio Edition:

I don’t think I need to say much here. Those who know me well know I love me some Michael Pauley audible action. For some listeners he’s a little over-dramatic perhaps, but I gobble that shit up! I honestly think I’ve cried in every Pauley audio I’ve listened to, and although that can probably be equally attributed to Lennox’s writing itself, I’m pretty sure it’s his emotional take on the whole thing that gets me every damn time! Seriously, this guy just does it for me, plain and simple.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

What this author has been able to achieve with this new series is a cuteness and sweetness that isn't toothache inducing or cheesy. There is a great balance of sweetness, humor, and seriousness that follows the issues the characters are having.

Two men take leave from their homes and family to escape to the Castle of Gadleigh. One is running from his mother and the negative attention he garner's from her and her career and the other from a future that he isn't sure he wants but is approaching fast. They meet by chance and we are swept along with them as they fall in love and have their very own fairytale.

There are some mishaps along the way of course. I could have done without some of them (his mother). But what we ended up with was a sweet story about two charming men who found love when they weren't looking for it but took it by force and made personal sacrifices to keep it.

I can't wait for the next one!

Happy reading dolls! xx

The second in the Forever Wilde series takes Felix from rural small-town Texas to Gadleigh Castle to inspect the famous stained glass for his dissertation. Lio is spending time at Gadleigh Castle to get away from the drama his father, the King of Liorland, is about to generate when he announces his divorce from the Queen. Felix falls for Lio, but has no idea he's royalty. Lio wants to keep it that way. Lio goes to Paris to present at a symposium, standing in for his mentor at the university. His grandfathers, a gay couple, come to support him. The entire family gets invited to the coronation for Lio to become King. Then Felix goes back to Texas, determined to get Lio out of his system. Lio pursues him, and...well...get the book and find out. Lucy Lennox is a genius at storytelling. You'll love this book.

~FELIX AND HIS FOOL~

The second book in the “Forever Wilde series and what a cute one this was. While not overly amazing, I still found it freaking cute and it made my heart feel super happy. I enjoyed Felix and the Prince so much more than the first book.

Felix Wilde wants to go study the beautiful stained glass at Gadleigh castle and he’s finally getting his wish. He’ll finally get to immerse himself in all the greatness and learn about glass making. Another upside is getting away from his mom and the hell she brings each time she has a new movie release. Gadleigh Castle is everything he’s ever dreamed of more, and it’s just so wonderful to be there. Things get better when he runs into a handsome stranger, and it seems he doesn’t only get to look upon beautiful glass but also a beautiful man.

Prince Lio has to get away. He’ll be coming into to the throne sooner than anticipated because his dad couldn't keep his dong in his pants. Becoming King means Lio can’t live his life authentically, a King is to marry a woman and produce heirs. Lio likes men and he knows he’ll have to put away his feelings and live for his country. One last getaway to his favourite place will help clear his mind but life has a way of messing with you. And soon Lio is looking into the eyes of pretty stranger and he knows he’s well and truly fucked.

This begins a relationship that nothing good will come from. Lio hides his title because he’s never met anyone who didn’t know who he was and being with Felix is so brand new and genuine, but Lio knows he’s only in it to get laid because feelings can’t play any part in their relationship. But the heart wants what the heart wants and Felix and Lio come to realize that walking away has never been an option.

As I said a really cute story with cute characters. Lio and his kingdom dilemma makes up the entirety of the plot. In the beginning I was sympathetic to Lio’s plight and by the end there, I was thinking he a darn fool. His dad out there getting young tings pregnant and he’s mooding all over the place and taking the weight of the world on his shoulders. Uptight, mans was being a little too uptight. Felix was your typical nerd, likeable and sweet. He lacked self esteem with a dash of Usian Bolt (always running) and was more doe eyed than sexy man.

Enjoyed the book very much until the close to the end where it took on a case of, over dramatic. The end was drawn out and too much unnecessary stuff was happening, which took away from my enjoyment. This series already passes that which is realism and I find it goes out of the way to be just a tad bit outlandish and I am trying to understand the need for it. So 90% in I was already over it, and just wanted it to end.

Overall, a sweet addition to the series, and even with all my complaints I found it entertaining and very feel good. A solid 4 Pants off and well earned!!!

4.5 stars! This was so completely adorable, sweet and funny *love those Wildes 🥰*, if I could hug the book I absolutely would. I love it but my kindle's not all that that cuddly. I finished this at 2am, because I literally could not put it down. Or I guess more accurately, I was so damn entertained and busy swooning that I didn't notice the time at all.

Lucy Lennox is fast becoming the author I go to when I need some happy. Are her stories realistic? Not really, but not outlandishly so. Are they insta-love? Yeah, pretty much. But all the damn feels, the heart and the warmth of family that she brings to her stories make me genuinely not care at all about any of that. Her characters are lovely, all of them, the writing is damn good and her romance has all the swoon I could want. And let's not forget the sexy. This author writes some smokin' hot sex, and more than that, the connection and chemistry between her characters keeps me coming back for more. Don't get me wrong, it's not complete fluff, but the angst and conflict isn't drawn out. I don't have to suffer unbearably for my HEA. And really, what more could I ask for?

I loved this, and am really looking forward to the next Wilde story. ❤️

Charming and adorable.
This is a modern fairy tale and you should read it as such.

Is this realistic? Not really.
Is it logical? Hmmm, probably not.
Is the plot believable? Only partly.
Did I care? NO! Not at all.

'Felix and the Prince' is one of the cutest, most entertaining, 'light and fluffy' romances I've read, and I loved it!
A brilliant comfort read that's bound to make you smile!

This was my 200th M/M novel as well as the first book of 2018. And it was an amazing way to start the year. Felix and the Prince was honestly one of the cutest reads ever.

Felix was adorable. You guys. You don't understand. He was one of those people you always want as your best friend. And his family? I loved them and how supportive they were. Especially Doc and Grandpa. And Lio. *heart eyes* He complemented Felix in every way. Watching them together was really something else. They had me addicted for more.

"You're fun."
"I'm awkward," I corrected.
"You're genuine." Lio said with a grin.
"You're insane. Are you looking for trouble or something?"

This was a really well done modern day fairy tale romance. I honestly can't wait for more books in this series, if this is any indication of how well Lucy can write.

An arc was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Wow... I have read all the Made Marian series books and the first book in the Forever Wilde series as well. I loved each and every one of the previous books, but I think that this book may be Ms. Lennox's best work I have read to date. The MCs in this book are truly incredible, fully fleshed out and complex. I totally cared for both of them early on in the book and continued to do so throughout. The plot is exciting, well-written, sexy and full of feels. I love the interactions of Doc and Grandpa with Felix and the rest of the Wilde family. This book was heartfelt, fun and sexy as hell. The relationship developed at a nice pace and felt quite real. All in all this was a really fun read and I enjoyed it immensely.

This book was inexplicably adorable, sweet, swoony and loving.

Felix and Lio have such devotion towards each other, and I loved how sugary-sweet they were with their interactions. They completely adored one another and it was such an amazing relationship to read about. They had great chemistry and were just so cute.

I especially loved Felix and his shy, caring, awkward and kind-hearted nature. He was such a lovable person, and I could totally see why one would fall head over heels in love with someone like that. Which was, of course, exactly what Lio did.
It can probably be described as a form of 'insta-love', which really isn't my favourite, but I found it somewhat believable here.
That's not say I wouldn't have loved it even more if there was more of a slow-burn between them and they had more drawn-out tension, but we can't always get everything we want.

Back to Felix, though: I really really loved him, and I don't think there is any way that he could possibly be any sweeter.
The danger with that, unfortunately, is that such a character can either easily fall into the 'fake and annoying' territory or the 'doormat' territory.
Felix definitely did not fall into that first territory, not even close. He was too authentic for that.
He did, however, slightly step into the 'doormat' territory, but only sometimes, and it wasn't even really bad. It's just that I sometimes wished he stood up for himself a little bit more, and maybe push back a little when Lio did something that really wasn't that nice or acceptable.
For example, I really wanted him to get angry at Lio for lying about his identity or for the offensive comment he made about 'royalty sleeping with commoners', but he did neither. He took it all in stride and not once mentioned being hurt or angry.
That kind of grated on me, but then again, I know that Lio always had the best intentions, so it wasn't like he was some arsehole that desperately needed a big talking to like some other characters in certain awful books. Lio wasn't like that. He was actually super sweet himself as well, and I especially loved his possessive streaks or the way he wanted to take care of Felix. I really felt his love for Felix, and it was pretty amazing.

I also really liked a lot of the secondary characters, especially Lio's sister, Hen. She was fun and really helped get the story along.
I also liked the Wilde family, of course, but I'm still not entirely sold on them. I think they need to be fleshed out a little bit more. I wonder if they'll ever be more than just a quirky mention in any of these books, because they haven't really served a purpose so far.

I thought the general plotline of this book was quite fun, albeit nothing special. It's kind of your cliché 'future king can't be gay, but falls in love and now wants to change the status quo' thing, but it was executed quite well. I'm never really bothered by clichés to be honest.

Long story short, I really enjoyed this novel: I swooned, I smiled, and I cared about these characters. It was good!

A fair bit of "just go with it" is needed for this one as Lucy Lennox has fixed on an existing Principality - that of Monaco - and turned it into an extended Kingdom with a Prince to fall in love with.

It doesn't spoil what is, at the heart of it, a very sweet romance, even though it's a bit insta-loveish, but every time I saw Monaco referenced or the newly extended Kingdom of Liorland with its islands off the Scottish coast deep in the North Sea, it threw me back out of the narrative a bit.

That's my only real quibble though with this second addition to Lucy's new Forever Wilde series. I very much enjoyed book one about West and Nico and this one about West's cousin Felix had a quite different tone and voice which was great.

Felix is just the sweetest, but he does have a hidden core of strength when it finally comes down to doing something about his feckless Hollywood star actress mother and her using ways. Lio was a believable Prince, arrogant when necessary but with a sense of care and commitment to those he loves.

I loved seeing Grandpa and Doc again and the rest of the Wilde clan and I'm intrigued to find out more about Otto and his old childhood friend Walker.

Oh and this cover is stunning.

Reread 2022-04-23:
Much of what I said in my original review still stands. It was nice visiting Felix and Lio again though.

Original review:
Felix and the Prince started out amazingly. For some reason I am a sucker for gay princes, I don’t know why but I always end up loving them. Lio wasn’t an exception. Not at all. So here we are and I am all in for this story. It’s sweet, over the top and a bit unrealistic, which let’s face it, is exactly what you want when you read a story of a prince from a country that doesn’t exists. (And Monaco?)
Everything is great. Felix and Lio hit it if right away, they have sex, it’s all insta love and cute (I love myself some insta love and will never understand why so many of you are like ewww insta love). Anyway at this point I’m all in for this story and it is a solid five star rating for me.

Then, the middle of the book happens. And Lio is stubborn. He has to marry a woman because he is going to become king and a king can’t be gay because traditions and yeah traditions. They go their separate ways for a while until they get together again. Lio and Felix realizes that they love each other and promise to fight for each other. Which is great and all that, until Felix after not even 24 hours since his promise to Lio leaves. This part of the story is sad and I just waited for them to get back together.

The end was fantastic though. I absolutely loved it. Just perfection. I even cried a bit. So I will settle for 4.25 stars for this.

I will probably not read the rest of the books in this series though. I loved the first book and I loved this. I don’t love what I figured out is happening in some of the coming books. And I absolutely don’t love aunt Tilly which seems to make a reapperance in some of the coming stories. Edit: I have read most of the other books in this series at this point and many of my fears did come through. However I did love some of the other books so I'm glad I didn't give up.

Re-Listen September 2020:
Still LOVED the story and Michael (Pauley) Dean's sexy performance. What's better than a prince and a geek falling in love on a rocky island in the North Sea? Not much!!

Original review, Jan. 2019:
Sweet and So Sexy Modern-day Fairytale!!

What an adorable tale made even better by Michael Pauley’s luscious narration—that man simply kills it during sex scenes!!!!

Set mainly on an Island in the North Sea, this story brings together a stained glass scholar (Felix Wilde) and a crown prince (Lio Grimaldi). What initially springs as a convenient hook-up for both men turns into something more. Felix knows not who Lio is, and Lio prefers to keep it that way.

Navigating the ins and out of loving a closeted royal is at the crux of this novel. I won’t spoil it for you, but there is a super-solid fairytale HEA!!

I read this on it’s own—I only got partway through the first book in the series, unfortunately. I’m happy to say that this totally worked by itself, and I’m happier to say that I’m back to loving Lucy Lennox and the HAF sexy times she writes!!

Now...on to the next book in the series!

Verdict : fluffy and sweet at the beginning, then too much insta-love and a fast wrapped-up HEA that didn’t swooned me.

I was not expecting anything believable : just to dream with a modern fairy tale of a future king, Lio coming out for the love of his life, Felix. I think it’s the insta-love from Felix coupled with too many other side affairs that dampened the sweetness and fluffiness I felt at the beginning.

Go figure : I really enjoyed the extravagance and fun of Lucy Lennox in the Marianne series but I struggle with this series. But it’s a question of preferences : it’s not a bad story, the writing and the hotness are good and the fairy tale is there. It just didn't work for me.

Real Rating: 3.5* of five...I'll read another one, so up not down

I'm always unhappy with muddled geograhy. Is Liorland (!) contiguous to, coextensive with, or just a renamed Monaco? The royals are Grimaldis, the actual family name of the Monegasque princes. And, at one point, Lio(r) whose given names don't include Lior as it is the customary regnal name is flying back from an island in the North Sea (not a lot of islands in the North Sea) which is somehow or another part of his family's holdings, heading for the Netherlands but also the borders of Northern Liorland are between the Netherlands and Denmark...? Heaven knows Europe in the 14th century, when the Genoese adventurers called Grimaldi were crankin' up the conquest machine, was chaotic and a political marriage with a Danish princess might have been made...but what? Huh?

That's nothing, however, compared to the spiritual torment, the angst, inflicted on me by 13 (thirteen) separate and distinct uses of the goddamned awful lazy dumb-sounding w-bomb.

The good parts of the book include the delights of Felix Wilde's grandfathers, a gay couple resident in small-town North Texas. Now, there are gay folks all over Texas, as I have personal reason to know; and there are *out* gay folks in many a small town everywhere. But the family of Wildes and their appropriately spottily presented history make for such wonderful reading, such hopeful reading in this time of division and despair.

Also delightful is Felix's chosen career in glass art and history. I loved Gadleigh Island's geological anomaly (to exist in the North Sea, it'd have to be the tallest mountain in Doggerland, and that geology would help explain its sands being freaky), and the hidden history of Gadleigh's Great Glassmaker. In fact, I'd've stinted a bit on Hen's drama and seen/heard more about Felix's presentation at the Louvre Conference and its repercussions. But no matter what, Author Lennox made Felix's love of art come alive for me.

The love affair between two skittish men, with much the same issue of being press-shy, is also the best use of the hoary old "I've got a secret" trope. No one doubts that a royal person is going to be pretty darned cagey about their identity in hooking up; no one doubts that a Hollywood star's kids are hip to the use of the stalking horse gambit to get fresh dirt on the famous parent. And put the two together? Two, two, two secrets in one! Well done, Author Lennox.

I'm not a grumbler about insta-love, which this pretty much is, because in this instance it's very clearly baked into the pie. These men are on a remote island, fleeing highly pressurized circumstances, during a major holiday. Vacation love affairs don't get better tinder (!) than this. What's less likely is discovering your fling is Mr. Right instead of Mr. Right Now. However, the reasons each falls in love with the other are clear, and spelled out, and make sense within the framework of the island-escape-"I've got a secret"-major pressure in life plot trifecta. Their uberhawtness is an artifact of the romance genre. Why fantasize about schlubs? Likely you are one, and got one; fantasy is about escaping reality. Jiggling Big Daddy's belly while you're, erm, involved in carnality is plenty fun, but why deny yourself a little variety in reading about washboard abs and round, bouncy sitzfleisch, too? Just like the rest of consumer entertainment, it's all about what isn't (but could be). Used in moderation, sauces like this spice up the meatloaf of reality in the most delightful way.

So, over all, I'm pleased that I took this Kindle freebie whenever it was free, and will strongly consider reading more in the series. Author Lennox did a creditable job of using the tropes of this genre in frameworks that made them a great deal more than merely palatable.

That is high praise coming from a grouchy old reader like me.

It's completely ridiculous. Cheesy cotton-candy fluff. But I liked it anyway!
Started this with low expectations and the start wasn't promising, but then the smiles came.

For an insta-lust that overnight becomes insta-love the story is sweet, the couple a joy together. There's a lot of heat. Some humour. No real angst or suspense. I was mildly curious how things would work out but happy to be along for the ride.

Lio is the prince of a fictional part of Monaco, but go with what you know I guess - his family ignoring Monaco schools sent him to board in America making him basically American, no accent not one gaelic shrug. I did find his behaviour jarring at times, expecting a more mature/restrained attitude in public, at least a slight nod to protocol for one of an actively ruling class.

Mixed views on his sister's meddling, towards the end I thought one action was potentially cruel to Felix. The valet Arthur is great fun, I do hope we get to read his story soon, he was a bit of a show stealer. Royal security is a joke though! Best not to think of all the ways they fail.

Felix is cute. His glass lecture came from out the blue though, a minor niggle but it would have been nice to see some time given to his research rather it be presented fait accompli (that might be more French than you'll find in the book!) I liked his flashes of confidence and flirting.

Overall it's not a book to take seriously. The epilogue goes on too long, we did NOT need to meet mummy-dearest. But, but I liked it. Sometimes there's a need for sweet, sexy, silly fairytales and this is certainly it.

After reading and enjoying Facing West earlier this year I thought it was time I went back to the Wilde “madhouse before I forgot about them.

This time around it is Felix Wilde’s turn, he is the quiet nerd who was always in the background. Felix mother is a Hollywood movie star and every time she has a new movie out like now the paparazzi descend on Hobie and Felix so this time he is escaping thousands of miles away to stay at Gadleigh Castle to finish his dissertation studying all the stained glass at the castle, the last thing he expected was to find a secret room and in that secret room find a sexy stranger.

Lio has escaped to Gadleigh Castle his favourite place for some peace before he becomes King as his father is retiring early due to personal circumstances, the last thing he expected to find in his secret room was Felix, someone who does not have a clue who Lio is.

These two quickly fall into bed together having lots of filthy sex, Lio thinking he will have his last gay fling before he becomes King and finds a nice wife to have babies with to carry on the Royal bloodline because there is NO WAY of being a GAY KING and Felix his hiding who his mother is from Lio.

Of course, things never go to plan and the truths come out, what is the fall out? Do these two stand a chance at a future together? Can Lio be King and have Felix by his side?

This was an enjoyable read with plenty of great characters the Wilde clan and the Royal entourage, it was light, sweet, steamy, funny thanks to Grandpa and Doc and some heart felt moments and the epilogues were super sweet.

I am looking forward to continuing this series.

Perfection. This book was perfection.

If I could give it more than 5 Stars I would throw the whole bucket load of stars at it.

It comprised a bit of everything I love in a romance book: great writing/pacing, fantastic characterization(both main and secondary), laugh-out-loud humour, incredible warmth, swoon-worthy romance and to top it all off, well placed angst which wasn't over the top dramatic.

Lio and Felix were just right for each other. They were FAR from perfect as humans can be but, they complemented each other from the very awkward bumbling beginning. The thing I loved most about them was their warm hearts.Reading about the chemistry they had, both in and out of the bedroom, was a joy.

Also, the inside jokes they shared, the way they played off each other in wit and humor, the way they propped up each other up in times of need and that AWESOME epilogue ensured I had a bigass smile on my face at the end of the book.

Needless to say , I didn’t have a single problem or issue with the book(other than the fact that someone really needed to bitchslap some sense and common human decency into Jacqueline Wilde).

Other than that, it was flawless for me and I intend to add it to my "2018-favourites" shelf as well as re-read the hell out of it!

Dear Reader of this review:
Please read this book, you will not regret it .

Told in a dual POV Felix and the Prince follows another member of the Wilde family from Texas to an island castle where love blooms among the stained glass.

Felix's grandfathers have sent him on a special trip to Gadleigh Castle to study their rare stained glass so he can finish his dissertation and get away from the papparazi that descend on their small Texas town every time Felix's mother, a famous (and infamous) actress, releases a new film.

When he meets Lio they both have something to hide. Felix hides his mother's fame, and Lio hides that he's the soon to be crowned King of Liorland.

They come from different worlds, and are going in different directions, so how hard can it be not to fall in love? Spoiler: it's impossible.

Do you like the whole commoner falling in love with Royalty trope? Do you like super hot sex scenes? Do you like some humor mixed with your romance? Have you read anything else by Lucy Lennox and enjoy her writing style? Then run, do not walk, to Audible and pick up Felix and the Prince.

Felix and the Prince is an adorable, humorous, sexy as hell, sweet, with only a sprinkling of angst, romance with an absolutely sigh-inducing happy ending.

Michael Pauley brings the Wilde family, and Lennox's fictional Grimaldi royal family, to life. He highlights the character's emotions without being over the top about it and makes this an enjoyable listen. I like his character voices, and appreciate that he voices the female characters without being super high pitched. But beware of listening to those sex scenes while at work! *fans self*

All in all I had a good time listening and I'm looking forward to Otto's story. Second chance, friends to lovers romance anyone? Yes, please!

3.5 Stars

*** This is why it is called fiction my darlings ! As is stated by the author, she made up a lot of the protocols and such, for her telling of this princely romance, so, we need to suspend our rigid thoughts and enjoy the ride.
Our characters are
Felix, 25, writing his dissertation for his PHD, and has gotten a chance to study with the master glass-works folks at Gadleigh Castle. Lio, 29, Prince of Liorland is taking a break at the castle before he will be assuming his role as King.

Our men meet in a secret room, and were drawn to each other. At first I thought Lio would be a playboy creep, but he's not a romeo, but an extremely passionate, emotion-filled man. These two scorch the sheets and tables, with dirty talk and hot and heavy sex. Felix doesn't know right away that Lio is a Prince, but isn't upset by it, because he's lived with his famous actress mom, paparazzi, etc.

This cute story moves along smoothly and different things are happening at once. Felix is in heaven in the glass-works and in Lio's arms.

There are fascinating characters, witty banter, and I love the Wilde family craziness. The guys have a rough patch, but the tale is marvelous and the epilogue is terrific with the HEA.
Highly recommended. ENJOY !

This was sweet, romantic and adorable story. I loved Felix and Lio together! It felt like Christmas romance and fairy tale in one. Both men are running to hide away and in the process they find love and courage in unexpected places. Felix is such a sweetheart! I loved his gentle manner, his dedication to history and passion for glass making. He is a a little nerdy, shy but also wicked smart and very kind.

Lio at first seems a tad arrogant but as the book progresses we see him change into the man that will lead his country into bright future, a man who is honest with himself and his people, a man who will not settle for less than the man he loves with his whole heart. I loved his transformation - it felt like he only started to truly live when he met Felix, that everything before him was empty and superficial.

Here I liked how Ms Lennox made a point about press, their aggressive attitude and how powerful a weapon it could be when used correctly for good reasons. I also loved Wilde clan - they are just freaking hilarious, always joking and ribbing each other but the best part about them was the love and support they had for each other. Doc and Grandpa are amazing! Entire book is a mix of romance, marvelous lighthearted humor and passionate love and devotion! I could not put it down! I will definitely continue reading this series and highly recommend it!
