Her writing is super powerful and motivational. But I kinda get the feeling that she's kinda low key encouraging being a stripper as a career. Anyway, there were some chapters that really got to me and made me embrace some of the ideas she was talking about.

I liked it a lot.... this was more practical than many other girl power books and also way less cutesy and ridiculous ‘touchy feely crap ( I see you A Tribe Called Bliss or Sparkle...or the Hollis crap)...she is very authentic and tries to break it down and make it attainable for everyone in terms of improving your life. Love that she came to be successful thru fitness but she is not overly annoying about it, instead focuses on the why fitness was good for her not just how being thin and fit was the be all and end all of her life...

Also, admiration to Beyoncé but not crazy status about it gave it brownie points in my end....

I was initially irritated at the very first chapter because it seemed like another one of those books that focused on feminism but played on the author's victim story. I was so wrong. This book is so genuine because Andrea not only shared her life story but shared the concrete steps she did to overcome the hardships that came to her. I am so glad that even though this book is probably marked under women empowerment, the entirety of the book is for everyone who wants to reach their next level. Some key takeaways I got are:
1) Don't play victim. Own the situation and don't blame others for their "evilness" (maybe, they just have circumstances that make them that way). correct and improve upon yourself.
2) Forgive others. It doesn't mean that your accepting what they did and telling them it is okay to do it again. Forgiveness is for yourself so that you can move on and not consume time and energy thinking about the past.
3) Say no to most things to get back your time. Better yet, offer an alternative that you can actually give them using "no, how about?"

Choose your own ending

Packed with practical advice, this book will help you to get over your own self-imposed limits (or the ones that life has tried to give you). I read every word of the sections that really spoke to me and skimmed the ones that I already 'get'. It's pushing me ahead...just what I needed.

Some notes:

Put wellness and all other forms of self-care on the non-negotiable section of your mind instead of viewing these things as optional.
Meet the bare minimum (standards that can be met almost automatically that they take almost no effort, should be non-negotiable as they are easily attainable)
o Beauty: put on xxx everyday
o Nutrition: eat meat and veggies every meal
o Nature: walk 30 mins at least once a week
o Fitness: some type of fun class at least twice a week
o Sleep: 7 hours per night, if not possible, make sure to catch up on lost sleep within a day or two
o Connections: connecting with a friend at least once a week
o Creativity / Self-expression
Everything you put on your body should make you feel fabulous.
Caring about your appearance and caring about the world are not mutually exclusive.
Never compare your behind the scene shots to someone else’s highlight reel.
Change from “I don’t know how to “I’ll figure it out

Really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I had never heard of the author before but the cover seemed interesting. I'm glad I did !

This book is great for staying motivated in difficult times. I am really impressed by the strength of the author and how positive she is today. Plus, she did a great job narrating the audiobook version.

The book is a mix of personnal stories and advice/exercices you can do yourself (there is an optional downloadable pdf with these).

Andrea is the ultimate motivator- Own It All is an exercise in reclaiming your life in small, but profound day-to-day steps. Andrea's insertion of other voices in the space are all fantastic anecdotes. Ideal for reading during quarantine and whenever/wherever you're looking to make a change in your life.

I was unsure of this book at first - have been going through quite a few self-improvement/ self-help books as of late - but this pleasantly surprised me, and actually motivated me to define my goals, start running in the morning, and start writing. Loved her story, and found a lot of helpful motivational takeaways.

I enjoyed this a lot! Happy I went with the audiobook - loved having the author reading it. Some of it a bit redundant, but I really liked the Action steps she gives you. Nothing better than a self help book that gives actual steps instead of stories with no solid outcome. I'll be printing off the workbook on my work printer 🦄 and working on these goals and steps! Thanks Andrea ❤️

This is an inspiring author. She writes a roadmap of the journey of life. She acknowledges the risks and benefits to each stage of growth. The final chapter is a three way discussion on the topic. Her main message: we do the best we do with what we have on hand.

This book was very motivational, the advices were a bit basic like what you hear in a lot of productivity books but it was inspiring to hear someone in a worse situation than me doing a lot of things. Would recommend if you need a little boost.

Trigger warning!! I started this book crying because I did not see a warning of domestic violence. This was a good read, quite empowering. Just jeez, trigger for sure right in the beginning.

Had some useful information. Was more of a biography than anything, but that’s okay. Thanks for the advice!
