Story: FAIRLY GOOD
Intimacy Level: VERY SPICY + SEX-citingly FUN

This is the follow up to Destructively Alluring, which I am a big fan of. When I was finished with Destructively Alluring, I assumed book 2 would be a continuation. However, Books 2, Addictive Lunacy, is about Calum, Dorian's best friend. Calum was recently dumped by his fiance. Promising him a night of fun was Calum's brother, Luke. However, Calum was stood up by Luke and Dorian. All is not lost once he meets Livana. Livana is a twenty one year old female that finds herself attracted to Calum, thus starting their taboo affair. Now I have to be honest,that crazy, extreme and intensity I felt while reading Destructively Alluring, was not the same in Addictive Lunacy as it is obvious Calum isn't Dorian and they have totally different personalities. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading Addictive Lunacy.
Calum was like a babbling teenager fool around Liv. He is not your typical demanding dominant Alpha male, but I did find his horny mind fun. Liv, though twenty one, at times came off as the dominant vixen by taking control of their relationship while enticing Calum. I found the build up to Liv and Calum's sexual appetite cute, fun, sexy and a turn on. As for the storyline, I found it to be fairly good, as the actions of both Calum and Liv interest me more. With that being said, like the first book, the author stays true to the male p.o.v, the age difference between both main characters and the men who are unable to control their wayward horny lustful minds. The author also wets my appetite with Luke, Calum's brother. From what I've read about Luke, his story seems interesting and it entices me because he seems to have a temper of sorts. I'm looking forward to reading his story as well.

Well, if that doesn't get you attention.... The rest of the book will. What I loved about this was the lustful build up between Calum and Livana. It was so fucking hot it about melted my kindle!
I think Liv is definitely the aggressor in starting this relationship. Calum is attempting to reenter the dating scene and due to his recent breakup he has no flirting skills. Liv is throwing out signals but Calum is toosweet naive to take advantage.
There is a phone sex scene that will melt your pantaloons right off. Sweet merciful LAWD! With that being said, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do... Take charge and fuck his brains out!
When Liv and Calum finally sealed the deal... it was like I got punched in the ovaries. D. E. L. I. C. I. O. U. S!!! Then when Calum's alpha takes over... *shivers* WHEW! This is where my kindle about short circuited.
Ok, I must address Liv's ass because it seems to be a major focal point. Calum has an ass fetish. He talks about Liv's ass through the entire story. It's not bad, but it is a little comical how much he loves dat ass. Hypnotized by the sway of her ass.
So, I'm stuck between 3 and 4 stars. The writing is fantastic and I give it 5 stars, and I would expect nothing less from Blanco, but the story was a little lackluster for me. Let me try to explain my feelings... The story isn't bad, but I keep wondering what was the purpose. What was the story trying to say? Where was the story trying to go? Hmm, was it the older guy (33yr), younger girl (21) fantasy? Is it that all the characters in the book have similar stories? Is it about Liv's ass? What about how Calum recovers from a lifeless relationship? I just don't know.
Overall, it was pretty good. The story flowed really well, the sex was scorching hot and there are some funny giggle moments. I really like how the story is told from Calum's POV. You don't see that very often and it's a really nice change. I love Isabelle Blanco's writing style. I would have preferred to have a plot but the sex was so good it more than made up for it. Now.. on to the next one.

I enjoyed this book, but it was mostly just sex. Calum meets Liv-- Bam! He's in love with her. It was way too instant so I couldn't really like the characters cause I never knew them. To me, Calum seemed like this sex-craved man who wanted a hot piece of ass. The author should have showed more scenes involving them NOT having sex. There were a few, but just not enough. Overall, it was an okay book.

When Calum and Liv start to talk and once he gets a taste of her lips, Calum accidentally blurts out his "secret" of being dumped. Liv instantly rejects him and declares that they wait, but that doesn't mean she won't fantasize about him at home. Calum understands but he is unable to stop his craving for her. He dying to be able to kiss her and do everything imaginable on anything available. Then, when the craving becomes too much, will they still be able to hold back?

While this book didn't have a complicated plot, it was still entertaining with lovely light-hearted moments. Livana and Callum had some serious chemistry, and the tension between them easily bled through the pages. I knew once the tension broke, it would get hot fast, and I loved it. Theirs was a case of fate stepping in and demanding it's way. If you love a romance full of instant attraction and emotion filled with caution, read this book. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

After I started reading "The Ryze" series by N. Isabelle Blanco I wanted to read her contemporary romances. I am glad that I did it.
This book was very very hot and kinky. To my surprise, it was quite short, but that was even better, because I had the chance to read it very quickly. And it also includes my favourite tropes - age-gap.
Calum was instantly attracted to Liv from the first moment he laid his eyes on her. Which, sadly for him, wasn't a good time, because he was about to break up with his fiancee. Well, good for him, she wasn't the one for him. Liv, on the other hand was indeed his match. She was quite young for him, but that didn't stop them. They didn't get together straight away, because even with the sparks flying between them, they tried very hard to fight it.
Well, let me tell you something...They got together after quite a long fight and it was explosive 🌶️🌶️🌶�. I loved the sexy and the smut scenes with them and I loved it.
I can't wait for the other books from the series to come out...AKA - Luke and Dorian's stories. For whoever reads the book, I think you all know who's going to be Luke's love interest 🤫.
Overall, this book was a very fast read and I really liked it.
If you want to read a hot, short read with lots of smut, this book is for you ♥️.

Calum and Livana’slove lust story is one of chance. Both had planned a ‘night out on the town� with friends, and both were left hanging.
When Calem wonders out of the men’s room the last thing he expects to find is a tiny, gorgeous, smart mouthed blonde talking on her cell phone. He’s basically rooted in place by her mere presence. Okay, I get that. Men are silly creatures. When he finally shakes himself out of the lust induced fog which has enveloped him, the two find themselves grabbing a few drinks together and the sparks begin to fly.
Sparks turn into a tiny fire when the two begin to suck face at the bar. Suddenly Calem spews out some bone chilling information about his recent split causing Liv to put the brakes on their hot and heavy make-out session. She doesn’t write him off completely, just decides that they need to wait a little before seeing where things go. It seems like a good idea, if they can keep their hands off one another�
Raise your hand if a 12 year age difference makes you cringe. I just don’t feel like it’s that big of a deal. Okay, you’re 33 and she’s 21. Who cares?! Get over it. It’s not like she’s your student or something. The older you get, the less shocking an age gap appears to be. Calum seems to think it’s an issue� It’s not like you’re friends with her father, or she works for you. Get over it, dude!
Speaking of Calum, he has got to be the most feminine male, ever. He is constantly talking himself out of things. Says he doesn’t watch porn (or didn’t for a long time), never masturbates, hasn’t had sex in a month� Uh, who is this man? His ex must have taken his balls with her when she left. He’s waaaaay too uptight. For the love of God, he found himself uncomfortable wearing jeans! Who does that?!
The transformation Calum makes from the beginning of this short novel to the end is remarkable. He basically does a 180. He starts out this unsure, mild, meek man and ends up more of an alpha sex god. It’s almost comical. Didn’t see it coming. At all.
There were moments that didn’t make much sense to me. For example� In one of the scenes Calem is talking to his brother Lucas when his intern walks in. It turns out that she’s a family friend who grew up in France. She’s trying to shake off her accent and the use of any French phrases. Okay, fine. All is well, until Calem makes some comment about it not being a big deal because everyone around there knows how to speak French. Uh, really? Where exactly do you live? Canada? Did I miss something? Maybe I did. It’s been known to happen from time to time.
The hot parts were HOT! Keeping the two characters away from one another for as long as Ms. Blanco did only added to the already thick sexual tension. Wanting what you can’t have is so...human. Reading from Calem’s POV makes it even hotter. I wish we were privy to more of the hot, hot, hot. Addictive Lunacy ended so quickly. It would have been nice to get at least one more romp.
Overall, this was a fun, sexy, quick read. It only took me a few hours to whip through. It’s a good choice for a day at the beach or relaxing beside the pool � a guilty pleasure type read.

Wow...surprisingly good hot read.
This is the first time I've come across this author and wow..
This book surprised me, it made a change that it's the man, in this case Calum that is left wondering exactly what's gone wrong when his girlfriend of six years fiancé for two breaks their engagement, it turns out that Calum's not quite as upset as he should be and his brother Luke is there to cheer him up and drag him out. Calum turns up at the bar to discover that his brother Luke and friend Dorian can't make it but all is not lost because he meets Liv, who's also been stood up by her friend and this is where the book comes into its own. From the first time these two meet you can feel the attraction and the heat, the build-up is slow as they get to know each other until the sexual tension becomes too much.
Calum was fantastic character and I loved him but if I'm being honest it seems to be easier for a female author to write a good male, in my experience it's the female characters that cause the problems, too many TSTL moments and brainless decisions but not in this case Liv was incredible, witty, likeable, intelligent, honest...I just loved her and I wish this book had been longer.

Calum is talked into going out with “the boys� for a night on the town after his engagement is called off. He is stood up by his brother Lucas. He runs into the beautiful Livana. Livana may be younger, but is the mere sight of her enough to make him realize he is not an old man? They talk and realize they have a lot in common. By the end of the night, who will be on fire for one another? Is the feeling mutual? Will they pursue it or will they know when to tell the truth about their past?
Is it wrong to want someone so much after just recently ending it with someone else? Calum slips and tells Livana he just recently was engaged, or did he? Livana will not be someone’s rebound. Calum’s need to be around her or have her around is constantly growing. Can he resist the urge of Livana or will he break and call her? Will he lose all restraint when it comes to Livana?
This book was worth all 5 stars that are available. It was a short, easy read that will get you all hot and bothered. It was fabulous and I loved every bit of it!

The reality alongside the fantasy was enticing. The interest didn't hold them from staying in contact...texting and calling. Calum seemed timid at first and i was a little iffy but he had an underlying control about him i started noticing and when things took off he absolutely captivated me. I now have an impeccable image of him built in my mind and am so impatient that i want to make up something for these characters myself just to get by! (oh man- is that how fan fiction starts? please hurry so i don't do that)

The reality alongside the fantasy was enticing. The interest didn't hold them from staying in contact...texting and calling. Calum seemed timid at first and i was a little iffy but he had an underlying control about him i started noticing and when things took off he absolutely captivated me. I now have an impeccable image of him built in my mind and am so impatient that i want to make up something for these characters myself just to get by! (oh man- is that how fan fiction starts? please hurry so i don't do that)

Addictive Lunacy is a fun and flirty rainy day read. Calum and Liv meet at a bar after their friends stand them both up. The chemistry is instant but they are not able to move forward given that Calum’s engagement has just been cancelled. And does Liv want to be his rebound ‘girl�?
It is a wonderful change to have the male point of view throughout the novella. Their voices are strong and showcase their individual personalities. The reader learns a lot about each character via the dialogue.
Is this the real thing or simply rebound lust? I do not think that their story is over. Perhaps the author should consider a sequel.

I was given this in return for an honest review and I'm afraid it was a disappointment. There were several formatting errors which isn't really on in a book that was first published in 2012. I thought the story was banal, and I didn't connect with the characters. There were a couple of lines I liked from Liv, like, "your ex sucks balls for what she did to you" but there just wasn't enough of that. I'd give it 2 and half stars.

I believe this is an interconnected trilogy with another of N. Isabelle's trilogy, Allure. This one is about Calum and Liv. If you have read the Allure trilogy, Calum is Dorian's best friend. Breaking the Rules begins with Calum being at dinner with his fiancé, where things end up being broken off. But during this dinner, Calum finds himself being attracted to the blonde on a date across the room. He doesn't even pay attention to his fiancé because he's so captivated by this woman.
"Was I dreaming? What was happening? Not only was I practically salivating at a fucking stranger across the restaurant, but my engagement seemed to be ending, after six years of being together, over a prenuptial agreement that I thought she was okay with."
Calum isn't your typical alpha male. In fact, I'd say that the majority of the time, he isn't. He is so head over heels for Liv that he begins stalking her and deriving methods to meet her. Once they do, and find out that they've crossed paths before in a different way, the sexual tension can be cut through with a knife. Since book 1 is solely told in Calum's POV, we can read all his thoughts. He's literally like a teenager in love... and horny LOL. Book 1 is more sex driven than relationship-driven driven so they haven't really established a deeper connection other than their attraction for each other. I've started reading book 2 as well and see the shift more to emotional.
"Her eyes locked with mine. I'd never forget the look on her face at that moment. No, I wouldn't. Because that was the moment I knew for a fact she was mine."

The mmc aaah ( hes obsessed from the moment he sees her ) aaah. - like aah omfg . We love a down bad man hehe. He’s engaged at the start of the book but he sees this woman ( the fmc) at a restaurant where he is on a date with his fiance & keeps staring at her - cus hes literally starstruck . Anyways his fiance breaks up with him going ( I DONT WANT TO BE WITH YOU ANYMORE Cus You have a prenup I don’t want a prenup) - so they are over like at the start .

Not his second cousin being her step mom 😭😭🤣🤣🤣 - I mean there’s certainly some forbidden aspect in this book for real.

This story begins with the ending of relationship and engagement between Calum and his fiance, Diane, and his immediate interest in a woman he spots across the restaurant as this is occurring. He is thrown off by his intense attraction to this woman going as far as to follow her home and show up outside of her apartment the next day. He then happens to run in to her at a bar where they realize they are related (via a step relative) and between that and his recent break up decide, they cannot act on their attractionand must deny themselves.
At this point, the story gets weird for me. Instead of them hanging out or dating, Calum turns into a weird, jealous stalker. There is no other plot. The story just drags on.. they see each other, and they kiss they talk.. she says he isn't ready for a relationship they go back to waiting. That is the book in a nutshell..
There is a HEA, eventually, but overall, I found this book to be boring with little chemistry and no real storyline, and the "rules" they keep refering too seem silly they aren't actually related and the ex had already moved on so why drag it out? I really love N. Isabelle Blanco’s writing, and this book was definitely a great read. This is an age gap romance, but not too much of an age gap.
When Calum was sitting with his fiancé at dinner while she was breaking off their engagement, he sees her. This captivating woman that he can’t seem to take his eyes off of. His engagement to Diane was not a love match, so he didn’t really care that she broke it off � especially since it was because he refused to disregard the pre-nup. He follows the mysterious woman home but does nothing else. Its not until he is supposed to meet his brother and friend at a bar that he really runs into her again, and she is there by herself after also being ditched by her friends, but he discovers is named Liv. They get to talking and figure out that they already know each other. She is the stepdaughter of his 2nd cousin! So now they are wary of trying to pursue any type of relationship.
They can’t seem to stay away from each other though, regardless that it might be considered taboo� The ending was great � I always love a happy ending. And we get to see where the next book in this series is heading� Right to Calum’s brother, Dorian, and a daughter of a friend of the family � Demi.

First, I need to say that I usually don’t write reviews but these two books have got me so frustrated that arghh I need some outlet. Furthermore, there a lot of positive reviews that made me read these two books and I feel cheated.
The story is empty : I mean a part from a lot of hot sex, nothing happens.
There is no actions, no dialogues.
There is a lot of internal thinking, where the h expresses her doubts, insecurities, and rehash her poor love experience and how distraught she is.
Can you imagine, she is 21 years old and she is still traumatized from her first and only boyfriend of four years ago : that means she met him at 17 years ago and from that moment, she decided that it is better to go on with one nightstands and be a bitch than risk her heart......Duh
The H is not really better : his is supposed to be a brilliant 32 years old Ceo but acts like a teenager caveman : he touches you I am jealous let’s have sex and ...done. No communication, nothing.
And last but not least, the second book ends on. Cliffhanger and the book has been written since 3 years. It was announced for end of 2017. So at least, my advice will be wait for the third and final installment.

Told entirely from the hero Callum’s point of view, Breaking the Rules is a quick and steamy read as architect Callum obsessively falls for the young woman, he spots seated across the restaurant just as he’s being dumped by his fiancée. Obsessively? Well, he does follow her home that night thinking murderous thoughts towards her escort. He doesn’t care that she’s younger than him, he can’t get her out of his mind but then fate plays a part placing them both alone in the same bar after being stood up but the minute his fantasy girl Liv finds out just how recently his engagement ended, she puts the brakes on their budding relationship. This just leads to some sizzling flirtation vie text and phone calls, building the tension between them before culminating in some seriously steamy action.
While not as dark as I expected from N. Isabelle Blanco, I still enjoyed this book. I loved the main characters and the build-up of their relationship. There was a good cast of secondary characters, but I have to deduct one star as I felt that this book ended just a bit abruptly for me. I’m not sure if it there will be more from Callum and Liv in the next book, but I get the impression that one will feature another couple.

This is the story of Calum and Liv. Cam has always been a man who lived his life with purpose and did things in moderation. He did everything according to how he had it planned out. Things are going perfect for him until his engagement falls all to pieces and his crazy brother Lucas gets him to agree to a night out on the town. Unplanned where anything can happen. When he is left to find for himself when he catches the eye of Liv and his brother bails on him. The impossible happens and they end up talking. He never expected by the end of the night for an inferno to be burning inside of him for a girl he just met. After all she is twelve years younger than him and the complete opposite of any woman he has ever been attracted to before. He has to have her and is dead set on it since shes awakened a beast inside him. This story is like a long tease to get to where you are finally going. I know that sounds like it would be awful but it so is not. I just don't know a better way to describe it. The attraction that these two feel will about have your kindle melting in your very hands. By the time you get to the end of this book you are going to be wishing that you were Liv.

I went into this book mostly blind, I was unaware that this story was single POV from his side. He is in his late 30s, a billionaire, recently broke up with his long time fiancé, has never had to flirt with a woman before and does not do casual dating. But when Calum sees the most beautiful blonde girl he has ever seen at a restaurant on a date with another man, he is determined to make her his at any cost. He is having desires for this girl he does not even know that he has never had for any other woman before. There are some reasons they should not be together but he is willing to overcome those issues if he can just keep her.
The tension in this book literally starts on page 1 and I thick through the end of the book, the spicy scenes are toward the last part of the book, but it does not disappoint. It does leave open ended and the next book is supposed to have her POV which will be very interesting to see if she feels the same for him and he does her. I am intrigued to see how the problems they have will play out.
