This groundbreaking book explains how to tap into your body's enegy to change your health, behavior, thought patterns as well. Your body is comprised of energy pathways and energy centers in cmotion, a dynamic interplay with other energies, your cells, organs, immune system, mood, and thoughts. If you shift these energies, you can influence your physical health, emotional patterns, and state of mind.
The Promise Of Energy Psychology gives simple instructions that will help you overcome fear, guilt, jealousy, anger - change unwanted habits and behaviors - enhance your ability to love, succeed, and bring about significant change to enjoy life. Even physical problems may respond where other treatments have failed. It puts the ability to effect change directly into your hands, over pain and destructive behavior.
It's astonishing and a bit sad how many people have not DONE the actual physical movement-based experiments which this book is all about, but have simply spouted their opinions of the book.
The book works.
As the title says, it represents a bridge between the Western, Eastern and new energy psychology paradigms; it represents the "promise", not the satisfaction of the promise, of energy medicine. And it is about medicine - about a definite method of healing. As such, then, it's probably suitable for medical professionals with open minds and hearts, and people in need of healing.
The greatest strength of this book is the inclusion of the circuits of joy, for the first time anywhere in English texts, explained in a straightforward, practical, testable, and sensible way. There have been many occult books mention the joy circuits, but none have framed them simply and accessibly like this book does. This is a unique feature especially of THIS book by Donna Eden - the other books by her are not as accessible as this one is. It makes a unique contribution.
For other books on the subject which contextualize it in practical ways, check out "The Tapping Solution".
The information presented in this book has gotten me through some dark days. I am still on the fence about how much the energy tapping works, but it has certainly improved large aspects of my life and for that I am so thankful.
A friend of mine recommended this book to me as she has been practicing this kind of work for awhile to deal with certain ingrained patterns of thinking and behavior. It does seem a little silly at the start--all sorts of tapping and eye rolling and so forth, but the theories behind it regarding acupuncture points, energy meridians, etc. make sense to me. What was really interesting to me, and unintended I'm sure on the part of the author, was reading about various "energy" exercises one can do to improve energy, attitude, etc. and discovering that I already do many of them inadvertently when I practice yoga. I had actually forgotten that yoga not only works with the physical body itself but with the energy meridians as well and the poses are designed around many of the ideas espoused in this book. It was an unexpected discovery! Very cool. I'm going to try the whole premise behind this book on a few things, even if I look silly! ;) Hey--whatever works!
Overall, a fantastic book. I would say that if you're familiar with Donna Eden's "Energy Medicine for Women," this will serve as a more, all encompassing breath of work.
This book has a high amount of case studies, which make it viable as a logical read regarding energy meridians, Eden's processes and Feinstein's logical based psychological reasoning. I enjoyed the case studies, the short cuts presented and the expansion of the EFT techniques throughout the work.
Fair Note: Some of the websites listed in the book are going to show up at 404 errors. But, that's the process of developing technologies...
In any case, I have the aforementioned "Energy Medicine for Women" in print. As such, I am highly considering purchasing this book as an e-book as an easy go to when needed. This is a good, solid book that has a rightful place next to "Hands of Light" or "Light Emerging", both by Barbara Brennen.
Very good book on all key energies of the human body. I read Medicine Energy some years ago and was impressed with the the info. Same here. The realization the all physical or emotional difficulties we face have a counterpart in our energy system and can be treated at that level makes this book more than a worthy read. There is lots of useful info. I would expected even more effort to make a bit more accessible. The exercises are explained well and the pictures reveal the right energy points. However, there is more to be gained from an even better, more concise and effective presentation with the presentation.
A traditional psychiatrist has an energy/bodywork healer as a wife and saw the results she achieved and wanted to apply it to psychology. Uses tapping of energy points on the body to supposedly clear energy/emotional blocks (called EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique). Another kooky concept that intrigues me. Doesn't seem possible it could help someone but anecdotes of veterans with post traumatic stress and people with extreme phobias "getting over them" with in a few sessions. One of those things that are worth a try if you are really struggling with something.
Laid out very well, in a fashion that makes it simple to read the book and then try the described techniques immediately. I've tried tapping before and am amazed such a crazy (to my western mind lol) thing works. Learning about additional techniques like "the zip up" and massaging tender lymphatic spots is super helpful. Turns out my lymphatic spots are SUPER damn tender! Who knew?!
Excellent book so far about bringing subconscious issues to the fore to deal with them.
I want to read this book again because it is so deep. I feel like i just scratched the surface of understanding everything. However, there's so many books and so little time...
thought-provoking, full of factual research proving the thesis, plus practical tips for how to actually start defusing emotional blocks and buttons using tapping and other energy psychology interventions.
I recommend Feinsteins work. I learned a lot. Energy Psychology will give you a leg up on how to change your negative emotions to learning experiences & resolve emotional issues.
Very good book for people who are looking for a quick effective way to change their lives. The basic recipe (the method to use to change traumatic memories, emotional reactions, & behaviors) is easy to learn and use. Give this book a try. It's an amazing little treasure that is sure to transform the life of anyone who applies it.
Don't we all trip oursleves up with our negative thoughts and memories or fears? Well, the techniques put forth in this book can help you to clear a lot of that up -if you are willing to do the work. Like a cleanse for the energy body, these tools put the power back in your own hands.
This was really interesting to me- however I found it hard to understand at times. (Maybe I was reading to much into it) But- I have put a few of the concepts to work, and they do work!!!!! Just be prepared to be a bit confused at times.
A clear, concise, readable and potentially life-changing introduction to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) -- a simple technique of "tapping" specific acupuncture meridian points to clear blocked energy. The applications and implications are mind-boggling.
Repetitive. Physically based tapping and physical exercises seem more devoted to psychosomatic solutions than practical advice. May be good for some folks, not for me.
