I totally agree Veronica. They could have had a passionate life long love if Scarlett could have gotten over her obsession with Ashley - a nothing man really, a man who I think lead her on a little but who would never have left Melanie. Scarlett got what she deserved in the end but it could have been so beautiful. A romantic tradgedy in my opinion!
I agree with you Veronica Scarlett did not deserve Rhett because even after she comes to the realization that Rhett loves her (the night after Ashleys surprise birthday party) she thinks to herself how funny it is that Rhett loves her really and truly loves her, and she thinks she probably loves him as well. The very next thought in her head is not I will do everything to make Rhett happy. The true Selfish self centered Scarlett shines through. She thinks to herself well now I have got him he will never best me because now I know he loves me and I will use that to control him he will never get the upper hand with me again. This is why I think she does not truly love him or deserve him.
