Really? I just finished the 2nd one too (which took me more time than normal to read) but I thought it was much smoother than the first book. I liked it...
I found the first of the trilogy the hardest to get into (probably about 80 to 100 pages), but the other two I found a lost easier. Each book is better than the previous one, which is unusual for a trilogy. I couldn't put them down once I had got into them.
