I know what you mean. Some of my friends who worked with me to try and elect Kamala Harris think I made a bad choice reading this book. But I decided I wanted to know more about President Biden's decision to run and then withdraw from the race.

Sue Did you get the answers you were looking for, Chris? Alex Thompson has made a career of hit pieces on Biden (I have no problem with negative articles but I do have a problem when they are gratuitous and ignoring the positive to focus only on the negative) and Tapper has made it clear in interviews that this was personal for him.

Elizabeth For readers interested in this topic but who may not want to give money to Tapper I recommend Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

Wendy I am also a Democrat, and very liberal on most issues. This book broke my heart. Seeing someone you care for so I'll is heartbreaking, but the cover up was heart breaking as well. I think the book was well documented and likely, at least in large measure, a fair representation of what occurred. We can't point to the difficult positions of our opponents and somehow come away with the belief that "whatever it takes" is justified: sad, scary must read.

Ellyn I wonder why Tapper & Thompson chose to write this cruel book instead of one about the monster who currently desecrates the white house and our nation. Obviously, this is a "never read" for me, and I will never trust tapper again.

Deb Stern Nope not reading or giving any credibility to this book. Might as well read the National Enquirer or some other rag magazine. Tapper should have been writing about the monster and the bigots currently in office.

Kathleen Nagro I appreciate Chris review. As a Democrat and Never Trumper it’s a tough call to read or not to read. I had it on hold at my library, then canceled the hold. I do believe in, “Don’t look away, so I may have to read it after all. Please don’t buy it though, borrow it! I wonder how much of what’s reported is actually true?

message 9: by Tracy (new)

Tracy I might read it, but I’m definitely gonna get it out of the library and not give the author any additional money out of my pocket. Or at the used book store.

message 10: by Carol (new)

Carol Multiple things can be true at the same time. We should not be so partisan that we can’t or won’t read something that makes someone you support look bad. I believe that all the negative press Trump received helped get him elected.

message 11: by Leona (new)

Leona Thank you for your review. i agree with your assessment that the founding fathers should have put upper limits to age requirements for all three branches! But, they probably never thought anyone would live that long!

message 12: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Will never read. Jake Tapper kept this information to himself in order to sell books. All the while, if you were paying attention you would have seen with your own eyes that joe Biden was incapable, and his wife and children did a disservice to him and the country they claim to love.
