Love that! What a wonderful description of how it came together. This book is very easy to "hand sell" to the patrons at my library. Even "non-science fiction readers" like it. A bit like The Martian which also can be read by many people.
That epiphany moment is one of my favourite parts of writing! All the time, effort, pain, trial, error, and madness becomes worth it. It's like a breath of fresh air. Renewing. I absolutely love what you did with Dark Matter. (Especially being interested in quantum mechanics myself, and a self-proclaimed theorist, though one doesn't need to be to read it.) It's excellent. Congratulations.
One of the more prominent wonderings after reading this story is the idea that maybe Jason actually did get back home...or did he?
And then there's the consideration of all the Jasons he left behind. I mean, not only from any given permutation's perspective, but how does any realm deal with so many approximations desperate for the same outcome?
There is sooo much to ponder with this tale that it could be as endless as the concept itself.
