You'd think most people would brush something like that off, but instead it triggered the kidnapping and everything else that happened as a result. It's why he throws it back into Sanne's face during the interview at the end, because he'd made the same mistake with her and she'd reacted in the same way. There but by the grace... (hide spoiler)]

I've just realised the significance of your dedication in No Good Reason - it's beautiful and very touching.

Thank you. I hope a lot of readers were prompted to google those names and find out who the officers were. 'No Good Reason' was always going to be their book. It was just my way of trying to honour them.
