Ha! I understand about believing I, as the writer, am in control until the characters prove otherwise. I get a scene written just the way I want and the characters show up in dreams to straighten me out. They stay in my dreams until I correct 'my mistake'.
I like that, and identify with it. I often read over what I wrote in my last session. Sometimes it's great and I move on with the story. Often though, something just doesn't feel right, and it's like the character in question is resisting the direction I'm trying to take them.
