Meh. Not exactly what I was looking for, and some of the instructions (like "you can't have photos of anyone in your bedroom who isn't you or your partner, because it will distract you from being attracted to them" - WTF lol) were... Not It.

Another typical clutter cleaning book. Short, minute, paragraphs on particular areas. Nothing new that I found - just common sense tidbits that most people use in one form or another anyway.

Consensus = clean up after yourself!

I wish I could do 3 and a half stars. I think the book, all in all, was good. It was a decent book going over the basics of Feng Shui, which made me feel ready to practice as a beginner. However, I don't think it goes over as much information as you need if you are serious about Feng Shui, so this book is a step in the right direction but will not make you a master of this art, that's for sure. Also, it has some scientific methods in it, and others are spiritual or what others may call "superstitious" but either way, most of them worked for me!

This book was full of very strange advice. I understand it had a focus on Feng-Shui, but the other half of the title says get organized. That's not exactly what this book does.

Would not recommend for organizational tips.

Definitely some interesting suggestions that I plan to put into practice, but most of this book was filled with common sense concepts that you shouldn’t need a book to spell out for you.

It makes a nice, quick bathroom read. A series of feng shui thoughts to breeze through.

A lot of the advice is common sense, but entirely too much is devoted to the "superstitious" side of feng shui for my taste. In places, I found myself reminded of Bridget Jones, in the scene where she tries to control the fates of herself and the people around her by moving her furniture, and a huge indoor plant, into illogical places.

There are things that I really respect about feng shui, and it seems the only real "set of rules" that I have come across for maintaining the health of the subconscious. Its weakness, as I see it, is that there are sometimes Too Many rules. As in this book.

I can perfectly agree with the idea that constantly looking at clutter or something depressing can grate on the subconscious, but the subconscious, almost by its very definition, defies being categorized and ordered by a single series of laws. And, really, should I be devoting my time to blaming my misfortunes on sharp or odd-numbered objects in the various "guas" around me?

A LOT of this book is devoted to telling me where to place my trash bin and my plants, but very little how to identify and find time for legitimate clutter.

But, in all, some good tips and a light read. (Only one thing stood out as a really bad idea. She advocates taking children's toys if they leave them out... and then giving them away without telling them if they don't ask for them back. That struck me as a tad mean.)

This was my first book on feng shui, and I found some of the beliefs to make sense as well as be of use. It's a handy little guide to keeping your house organized, but the author began repeating a lot of the same info over and over again toward the second half of the book. This didn't bother me too much, and I do understand the idea that advice of this sort kind of needs to be repeated to the reader in different ways in order to make the principles stick. The subtitle is "easy feng shui tips for getting organized," and easy they are. The book did spark a greater interest in me to learn more about feng shui, which was an unexpected thing since I mainly picked up the book because of the premise of "clutter control" and not so much for the feng shui. I got this book from the library, but if I saw it at a discount price of $2, I'd buy it.

Again another bargain book at Barnes n noble. As I was browsing through I found a few parts that described me to a t. Like over scheduling myself.

I was very intrigued by the concept of fung shui and how different items will bring good vibes into a room like having wind chimes at the entrance or opening windows to bring in good energy from the outside.

They had a grid that you are supposed to put over the floor plan of your house and some of those items relate to areas in your physical life. I am just not sure I buy into my bookshelf correlating to my finances.

I was interested in this book to help get more organized and learn more about what feng shui. the organizing tips were pretty basic, things even I could have thought of.i don't necissarily agree with the feng shui part. it may work for some people, but i don't think my problms in life are all based on the guas in my home being in order.

Pretty simplistic, this is a good pick up and put down kind of a thing, but really people, I am not needing to be told to throw out pens that dont work. We are dealing with a substantial amount of material here! I guess that this would be good for people who arent' really that bad yet, or who like Feng Shui. I however, cannot recommend it.

reading this book in hope to de-clutter my home. Several good ideas for organizing different rooms in your home, garage, outside; if a gardener great section on organizing garden tools, seeds, garbage pails etc. According to Skye Alexander, shredded newspaper eliminates odours in decomposing compost bin and garbage cans.

This was fun. I didn't read the chapter on clutter control in the workplace, but I read the rest and really enjoyed both the section on feng shui (which I knew almost nothing about until reading this) and the tips on clearing clutter from particular spaces in your home.

First half great, instructional for the non-initiate without being pretentious. The second half, being over a decade old, is dated to say the least, but also repetitive.

This was okay. It had some good tips, but wasn't what I thought it would be.
