Everyone she meets comments on how much she resembles Erich's deceased mother Caroline,and it grossed me out that she was stupid enough to comply with her freak of a husband's request/demand to always wear his mother's nightgown for their intimate encounters(which thankfully are not graphically detailed). It is wonderful to read such a well done creepy suspense without profanity and graphic sex and gore. Terrific Gothic-type tale.

Things get strange and suspenseful almost from the beginning,and the tension never lets up until the end.This book is a definite 'page-turner' and I would suggest not starting it,unless you have the time to read it through,as I imagine it would be very aggravating to have to stop,before the end.

This book will cause you to always remember "Marry In Haste,Repent In Leisure"!

My first book by Mary Higgins Clark and I was so pleased with it,that I plan to check out her other work.
