Story was told too slowly for my taste and then just didn’t tell it the way I was hoping so I just stopped reading after chapter 7.

I quite enjoyed this book but can't say it was a great book. It started off nicely but dragged on too much at certain parts. Loved the scenery and Cornish beliefs a lot, however, the story never gripped me like What the Wind Knows a book with a similar plotline did. ...more

This was also 4.5 stars for me. I loved this book! I do love a good gothic novel once in a while - don't want to read them every day, but this one was really good. This had the big old mansion, was set on the coast with ships and smugglers, disappearing grey ladies, etc. Loved the time travel element, I found it interesting and engaging. Perfect to read around Halloween. This book was very clean - a couple of bible curse words and an almost bedroom scene. Definitely recommend this one! ...more

I was really taken by surprise by just how captivating Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley was to read. Hadn't ever read a book like this, but she is a wonderfully skilled author.

I was absolutely drawn into the scenes as though I was the character of Eva,and she brought the scenes alive. The character development was really amazing, and they felt like part of my social circle.
