Well, that wasn't what I expected. I thought there would be more humor. When I saw her on the talk show where she was promoting this book, she was hilarious. There were some points were I did chuckle. There were moments where I almost teared up. But, it just didn't do anything for me. Maybe I need counseling for this? Maybe I am too much of a California girl to understand the New York State of Mind? If you love cooking, you might like this better than me.

This book was ok. It was definitely an easy read and fairly enjoyable. There were even a couple of parts that were brilliant (like the essay on parenting). But I don't think it deserved all the rave reviews it got. It was just sort of average.

I don't know how to remove this. I don't have the hardback, only the kindle and audible versions so I will mark it read. Sorry if this is confusing.
