So many things to enjoy about this book. I loved learning about video games and their creation. Zevin’s writing is so good—allusions, characters, friendships, interesting narrative styles. The second half of the book, in LA, slowed down and I was sad about the miscommunications in Sadie’s and Sam’s lives. But real life, nonetheless.

What a love letter to stories, games, the joy of solving puzzles, and relationships even those between flawed people. Funny enough, I have just gotten sucked into the world of playing Persona 5 and reveling in the world building and characters. A quick and easy read, but nonetheless with some depth - left me thinking about a lot of things. As the author states, it's a book about work and love. It's also about a particular moment in the in the software industry, when almost anything was possibe.
