The writing style of this book was very unique and interesting. I loved following Juliette's thoughts. She thinks things but then crosses them out of her mind, trying to think of different things. She was a strong yet strange and sweet character. Juliette was never loved and always seen as a monster. She made a fatal mistake at fourteen and was sent away. Shatter Me was so freaking amazing that nothing I say will ever justify it. You just have to read it yourself to realize that.

Nowadays there are so many Dystopian novels coming out that it's getting kind of annoying. The plot is ALWAYS the same and the characters just get on your nerves. However Shatter Me stood out because it has a completely different and new concept (Some people compared it to X-Men and it does have some similarities, certain humans have powers and Juliette being a combinatio Shatter Me was so freaking amazing that nothing I say will ever justify it. You just have to read it yourself to realize that.

However Shatter Me stood out because it has a completely different and new concept (Some people compared it to X-Men and it does have some similarities, certain humans have powers and Juliette being a combination of Jean Grey + Rogue, but that makes me love the novel so so so much more. But that's where the similarities end)

The world in Shatter Me is a grave and terrible place. It's a tough time for humanity and with the Reestablishment taking over, there's no chance of it ever becoming better. It's a very grim place and Juliette is right in the middle of it, trying to survive it as best as she can.

Juliette was such a great character. She started out a bit weak and scared but by the end, she had grown quite a bit. But she still has a long, long way to go. I'm glad she started accepting herself, when she reached Omega Point and found other's like her. She's such a well-written character and I thought she was really lovable.

One person that stood out for me the most was Warner. GAAAAD I love him so much. He's the main reason I started reading these books. Even though he's depicted to be the villain, he really does some shitty things. But there were moments of vulnerability, when he lets his guard down in front of Juliette, moments that made me understand that there's so much more to him than we realize. I am 1000% Team Warner.

Other than Warner, I really loved Kenji. Even though he appears more towards the end, he was such a comical relief, always making things a little lighter. There were moments I actually laughed out loud :)

All in all, I really loved Shatter Me. Everyone has different opinions and this is mine. I really loved TM's writing style, the strikeouts and the repetitive words. The metaphor's are okay but they really add to the story and the kind of person Juliette is. ...more

I actually had no interest in reading this book until a friend convinced me to give it a try and I'm glad I listened because I really enjoyed it. The writing style was very poetic and flowery, which took me a little while to get used to because it was like reading spoken word almost at times, but it wasn't very distracting. I really enjoyed this book--I particularly loved the first 3/4 (approx.) of it. Loved the twists and turns, the menacing feel to it and the crossed out text, descriptive language, and unique writing style the author used. The grim environment and world were also fascinating. Loved the characters, too--particularly Juliette, Adam, and Warner. I liked the gradual revelation of Juliette鈥檚 abilities, but would have liked more answers here--particularly how and why. It's been a while since I've read a book that completely consumed me, to the point that I skipped meals and completely disregarded what I had to do over an entire weekend just because I COULD NOT STOP READING. It was that good.

Juliette is a girl that has been locked away for a very long time, 264 days at the time the book starts. Put away by her own family because of a fatal ability she has, the ability to hurt, and even Wow! This book was just...wow...I can't even form a complete sentence here. It's been a while since I've read a book that completely consumed me, to the point that I skipped meals and completely disregarded what I had to do over an entire weekend just because I COULD NOT STOP READING. It was that good.

Juliette is a girl that has been locked away for a very long time, 264 days at the time the book starts. Put away by her own family because of a fatal ability she has, the ability to hurt, and even kill, someone with her touch. Because of this, Juliette was always pushed aside by her peers and her family. She always kept to herself and avoided human contact as much as possible. The only person who ever showed her kindness was a boy named Adam, a boy who one day is put in her cell as her new roommate. It is sometime in the future in what used to be the United States, a land ravaged by humanity's mistakes where birds do not fly and the sun doesn't shine the same and that is now is ruled by an International movement called The Reestablishment.

Juliette doesn't realize it at first, but suspects, that this boy who is now her roommate is the same boy who showed her kindness once upon a time. He arrives pretending to be a bully but she can see right through him and shows him kindness. This kindness causes a change in him and a feeling of shame for acting like a jerk when he first arrived leading up to an easygoing friendship between the two. This friendship is short-lived as Adam and Juliette are taken away by force and right into the headquarters of The Reestablishment, where Juliette learns that Adam is in fact e boy from her past, but also a soldier in The Reestablishment, and where she also encounters the head of the movement in that region, Warner.

Warner is an unlikely villain. He is the villain we all love to hate and hate to love at the same time. He's handsome on the outside, has dreams, aspirations, and believes what he's doing is right, which makes him the worst kind of villain in my eyes. He also develops an obsession with Juliette. He intends to keep her and use her as a weapon to torture rebels with her lethal touch. Juliette refuses to cooperate with him but instead of forcing her, he intends to win her over by giving her everything she could ever want, to woo her, not knowing that the only thing she has ever wanted is his soldier, Adam.

There's Mafi's storytelling is unique. Her use of strikeout text to depict Juliette's deeper thoughts, the ones she is ashamed to admit even to herself, is ingenious. It allowed me as the reader to really get into the character's head and know on a deeper level what she was thinking or feeling at the time. As Juliette becomes more comfortable around people throughout the story, the use of strikeout diminishes, which I understood as Juliette coming out of her shell. As I read the story I couldn't help but picture Juliette as Rogue from X-Men, a young girl with an unusual curse gift that can kill others if not controlled but with a very good heart. This book was pure WIN and it's definitely going to be a re-read, over and over again.

Wow! The story is Stunning, awesome I so want to read more about Adam, Juliette and even Warner is so very interesting! Luckily there is Destroy me for now. Favorite things:

1. Adam. To me he was incredibly consistent and believable; his behavior and beliefs made him real and human. I liked him, a lot.

2. Warner. I liked there was a flawed second male character in this weird and deranged love triangle. To me Warner wasn;t such a monster; I liked that he was tough, determined and bossy and to be quite honest I couldn't understand Juliette's oppression towards him. Amazing omg adam issofuckinghotheiskillingme.
omg I really don麓t know what to say.
I haven't read a book this good in a really really long time.
Shatter me literally blew me away!

Im just gonna say one more thing. I am so proud of myself for picking up this book when no one else had even written a review. I really did follow my heart when I picked up this book and I really wasn't disappointed.

Ohmyfreakingosh!To say i loved this would be understatement of the century..It totally bleeeww my brains outta my mind and its so full of emotions and feelings.Julliette is such an awesome character,and liking her is effortless..Plus,Adam..<3<3<3<3<3<3..
Warner was quite cracked but i felt sorry for him.Kenji is the kind of character-crazy,joking-i always like and James is cutee...I cannot wait for Unravel Me.:D:D:D
