I didn't enjoy this as much as I expected to, and didn't really feel that it lived up to the hype. The novel is narrated by 13-year-old Native American Joe, whose mother is violently raped in the opening pages, and follows the plight of the family and the other inhabitants of the reservation as they hunt for the perpetrator.
