This book is a collection of fascinating essays. Each essay is a gem; Tyson has excellent points of view about a number of subjects related to space exploration. The main theme of the book, is that NASA's funding should be increased, in order to allow manned space flights beyond low-Earth orbit. I can't remember anymore how or where I first came across Neil deGrasse Tyson. What I do remember is taking an instant liking to the man. I first started reading one of his earlier books, Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries, though I never got through the entire thing because I ended up giving it to my grandfather who took it back to India. With so many books on my reading list, I haven't had a chance to get another copy.

Neil deGrasse Tyson hace un espectacular trabajo divulgando ciencia, y esta es una colección de ensayos fascinantes; cada uno muy a su estilo, humor y entusiasmo que, definitivamente contagia. Tiene excelentes puntos de vista sobre una serie de temas relacionados a la exploración espacial y el tema principal del libro es por qué se deberían dedicar más fondos a ello y qué beneficios en la humanidad entera traen.

Tyson always writes a great essay. Each one was a delight to read. But taken all together some of it seemed to run together. I could see where he's used similar stories in a speech, interview, or an article. But overall they are a great collection on the history and future of our race to space, if we get there and what will happen if we don't. ...more

Since this is a collection of Tyson's articles and interviews, the book gets to be a little redundant as you get toward the end. However, it is my opinion that his is a voice worth listening to. ...more
