Svensson has brought us both a pleasing memoir and an inspiring natural history. Who knew that so many prominent (and I mean PROMINENT) peopel throughout history involved themselves with the eel? The writing is as fluid as a juvenile eel swimming in the current. I enjoyed every word and received the added bonus of new (to me) knowledge. Highly recommended if you like animals, ecology, puzzles (yes, puzzles), history and science.
