This book covers a wide range of human sexual response research. The author interviews a diverse group of researchers, and at one point even the author is a research subject. This book highlights the lack of research that takes place, and in some ways how little we really know.

Mary Roach is a funny woman and she obviously went through great lengths to research the material she found for this book. I appreciate her efforts greatly, however I couldn't help but notice many sex-negative influences permeating the attitude she has about sex and the topics she decided to research.

For example, she spent several chapters on male genitalia, but only one chapter on the clit in which she spent the entire time comparing it to the penis and no chapters at all on the vagina. She on

What I love about Mary Roaches books is you get the sense of curiosity she has. It is written so that you go on these zany pursuits for information with her, and in this book it is about sex. Interesting read and a fantastic ride!
