This one taught me SO much. Exactly what a book like this should do. I learned a ton of history involving the early period in human paleontology and evolution. The book was also bittersweet because of how badly Tielhard was treated by the church. He was such a powerful mind, and could have accomplished much, much more if he didn't have the dislike and distrust from the church.

I knew very little about this particular discovery, so reading about it expanded my understanding.

I was hoping for more personal information about how Teilhard de Chardin dealt with the conflict between the views of his faith and the laws of science. I guess I was hoping the author had found de Chardin's journal entrys or letters telling all.

Not a bad read though about the late 19th and early 20th century efforts at discovering the history of man.
