While "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" provides an interesting perspective on the history of medical research, I found the book to be poorly executed and lacking in critical analysis.
Skloot often inserts herself into the story, which comes across as self-indulgent and distracting.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It kept my interest and brought up many social and ethical issues. I think it would be a good book for a book group.
Fascinating and well-written, especially the second half of the book. Definitely a story and science/history lesson worth knowing.
