While "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" provides an interesting perspective on the history of medical research, I found the book to be poorly executed and lacking in critical analysis.

Skloot often inserts herself into the story, which comes across as self-indulgent and distracting.
Skloot portrays herself as a compassionate and caring , but in reality, she is exploiting the Lacks family for her own personal gain. Skloot fails to acknowledge that she is doing the same thing to the Lacks famil
