"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", like it's predecessor, is a very solid read. Collins has this very straight forward and punchy way of writing, which makes Katniss a strong, and in a way, cold main character, but considering what she's up against, it's totally understandable. However, there are times it breaks, like she kisses Gale, and you see little pieces of the vulnerable teenage girl under the tough exterior. EhmaWOW!!! After book 1, I thought things were cray-z....but boy was I wrong!!! Book 1 was only the beginning of an even cray-zier net. Collins has left me dangling once again, only this time, the thread I'm holding onto dear life for is starting to sever. {Important note: All of this is a good thing} I am hoping I can get my grubby little paws on book 3 within the next 2 days...hopefully. If not, I don't know how long I'll be able to last.

Katniss: I still like her...sometimes I get so frustrat EhmaWOW!!! After book 1, I thought things were cray-z....but boy was I wrong!!! Book 1 was only the beginning of an even cray-zier net. Katniss: I still like her...sometimes I get so frustrated with her, but I still absolutely love her and hope things turn out ok.

Peeta: Still one of the sweetest male characters EVER written. He is impossible to dislike...seriously. I hope things turn out okay for him too, because at this point I'm really worried!

Gale: Still cool, but distant as always. Reveals a little bit more to us, but I still don't really get him so much as I do Peeta....maybe that's the entire point, or maybe it's just that I am not Katniss.

Haymitch: The man with a plan...all the time. Still reliable as always when Peeta & Katniss need him the most.

President Snow: What an evil, sinister, terrible, bitter old man...I despise him with just about every fiber of my being.

There are other characters too, some old and some new. I enjoyed them a lot. There was a lot of diversity in the field. New talents, new personalities, more drama =D

Collins always manages to toss in turns that just blow everything I was thinking would happen right out of the water. Right when I thought I had things figured out--BAM!!! Collins decides to say: "Nope. Not gonna happen. This is what happens, see if you can handle it." Never a dull moment. Just like the tributes, I was kept on my toes with the way the book twisted on me. That teaches me to even consider this book as being predictable.

I am very excited for Mockingjay. Catching Fire was by far one of the best books I've ever read. This series has had me thrown at the mercy of Suzanne Collins and I am very glad that this series has had such a great impact on me. One of the best series I've ever read, as a matter of fact. Ah, yes- now I remember. This book drove me mad. Poor Peeta can鈥檛 catch a break. Every plot turn is gross and/and deeply disturbing. But let鈥檚 be honest鈥� at this point Suzanne Collins has my undivided attention (and my money, obviously). 3.75/5
