Well, okay, I have seen pretty bad reviews about this book but well truly.... It wasn't that bad but not a masterpiece either.

It takes place in the country of Ill茅a, a dystopian world. There, people are divided into Eight castes, the poor in descending order. The richest, the royal families is One and the poorest, maids and servants are Eight. Well, the lives of One, Two, Three and Four are considerably good but then the condition starts to diminish.

Ayyy, muy cute
A ver... se me hizo una lectura simple y sencilla, la narraci贸n se me hizo hasta muy meh, nada demasiado interesante, pero la trama y los personajes se me hicieron lindos y divertidos.
Siento que si lo hubiera le铆do a los 12 lo habr铆a adorado, pero igual se me hizo una lectura buena para pasar el rato, tranquila.
La verdad era lo que necesitaba para salir del tremendo bloqueo en el que estaba y por eso me gust贸.

I can't believe I finally read this....

Wow! It's a relief I finally did though.

Tbh I thought I was never going to read this lol. But I'm glad I finally got the opportunity too.

THIS BOOKS IS SO FUCKING!!!! GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think it would be this book, I didn't have high hopes for this books, I just thought it would be good enough to not hate, But it became a new favourite book of all time. I'm gonna get on to reading the next book asap, or I will absolutely die!!!!

鈥淚 hope you find someone you can't live without.I really do. And I hope you never have to know what it's like to have to try and live without them.鈥�

Read this during Christmas time and it was a welcome break from all those cheesy Christmas romances I have tried to read and dnfed for the past few days. I loved most of the characters in the book and even tho America annoyed me at times I was able to get past that:)

This was better than I expected!!
It was very enjoyable and I ate it right up!
It was super predictable, but I can't deny that I was thoroughly entertained. America was a little dumb at first, but once you get into the book, it's not so bad. And of course both Maxon and Aspen are gorgeous and each have their own personalities and stuff, so that was cool.
But that's basically it, it's a nice sweet book about a bunch of girls competing to be a princess. ...more

The bachelor but royal and dystopian.

So I am trying to read all of the Tik Tok crazed books and I decided to pick this one up. It's quite different from what I usually read and I still am not quite sure how I feel about it.

The storyline is interesting enough, the main character enters a bachelor-type competition to marry the prince and become the next princess of a dystopian and futuristic U.S. named Illea. Ironically, and quite distastefully, the main characters name is literally American Sing The bachelor but royal and dystopian.

THE REST OF THE REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!!

America is your average "I'm not like other girls" type character who, unlike every other girl in the selection, does not want to be in the selection. She is still in love with her hometown ex-boyfriend, Aspen. America and Aspen shared a secret relationship as Aspen was in a different caste as America. The castes are basically really dramatic class systems and the castes are not really allowed to intermingle. This obviously makes her resentful of the prince and what he stands for in the country, so she lashes out on him during their first encounter. Of course, this immediately makes him like her as he simply cannot believe such a lady would speak to him that way. *sarcastic gasp* You can pretty much guess how the story rolls out. America is whiney, annoying, entitled, and just stupid. There is absolutely nothing I hate more than a main character who cannot makes any decisions whatsoever.

The rest of the characters are kinda just bleh. They fall into the background quite easily and cannot be distinguished from each other.

The world in the book was actually quite interesting as well. Having the country be post-war and futuristic yet feel old-timey was definitely and interesting layer to add.

But overall, this book is not worth the hype in my opinion. Nothing about it stood out to me. I finished this book about five days ago as I write this review and to be completely honest, I've already forgotten most of it. It just didn't stand out to me. I think it's still worth it to read though, if only to say you read it before the tv adaptation. ...more
