I ..don't understand the hype. I don't know. I didn't connect with the world or the characters, the romance was fast paced and idk. I'm not buying the sequel. If it releases on KU maybe I'll give it a shot.

4.5. this book was so good

like the plot of the book ate
-question tho where is Enva could she not easily stop the war? without all these innocent people dying???
- once again another book labels as rivals or enemies or lovers when he never really saw her as a rival
- i love iris and kitt i think they are so cute buttt marriage is crazy guys like i get this is what the 1930鈥檚??? but still
- the ending was crazy
- i hope they ruthless vows is better then everyone says it is 馃様

DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAV READS OF THE YEAR SO FAR

this book was enchanting. the writing was so beautiful it made you want to keep reading. it was sooo romantic 馃槶 i love iris and roman so much, they deserve a happy ending. the side characters were so lovely as well, it truly felt like a found family. AND THE ENDING!!!! there鈥檚 so many great things to look foward in the next book and i鈥檓 so!!! excited!!!!

I need this book injected into my veins. I loved it so much it put me in such a slump when I finished it because I felt like something was missing from my life. There's a Divine Rivals shaped hole in my heart, this broke it and then broke it again. I need book 2 in my hands immediately.
This is a story of a very lonely girl exchanging letters to her missing-in-action brother and of the equally as lonely boy (who is not her brother) who replies to them. I fell so deeply in love with the letter exc ...more

I honestly feel like I'm missing something. Because I really, really liked it. I had an enjoyable time, I kept wanting to continue, I laughed along with the characters, and I was gripped by the beautiful writing style.
But I'm not obsessed with this book like I feel everyone else was. I can't even really tell what was missing. More worldbuilding, because some background to the story was missing? Or maybe it was just too short for me to really get attached? I don't know.
