Not perfect, but somehow still an addictive read. I always find JLA’s books enjoyable and easy to get into. I loved Poppy & Hawke, their dynamic really pulled me in. The story was interesting, though quite predictable, so I wasn’t too surprised by how it all ended.

Honestly? I was not prepared for how much this book would suck me in. I went in thinking it was just going to be another fantasy-romance with a hot guard and a chosen-one trope, but damn, it works. The tension, the world-building, the way Armentrout lets Poppy want things without apologizing for it? Yeah. That hit.

Wow wow wow!!!!!� I am so in love with this book � major plot twist at the end too! Plot romance badass fmc incredible banter protective a** hole mmc and spice! Starting second book immediately
