What Members Thought
Somewhere along the lines of A Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, this is the first in what I think is going to turn out to be a very involved fantasy series. There were parts of this book which dragged a little - it was a long book - but in general I think it was a great beginning with the introduction of some really good characters. I particularly liked how we always had the chance to read Glotka's thoughts, and I especially liked Bayez and his calm but unbeatable power. I am interested to

While very well written, this book read like the opening chapters of a book. We know the characters and the world they live in. We know how their societies operate, but we know little else. I liked it, I didn't love it but I liked it. Can't give it a higher rating because I feel I'm still in the middle of the story. Once I finish the trilogy maybe the rating will go up.
