Gavin Scott is the second baseman for the Nashville Legends pro baseball team and his marriage is in trouble. He recently discovered that his wife Thea has faked having orgasms with him, all but one, and he didn’t handle it well. Not realizing this was just a symptom of bigger problems, Gavin’s reaction was the proverbial straw that broke their fragile relationship. Now he’s desperate to get his family back and when he’s approached by some of his biggest alpha team members about joining their se ...more

Oh how I love a good second-chance romance! Add in some laugh out loud moments and allow the hero to tell the story and I'm sold. I wasn't surprised by the humor as other readers have alluded to that, but I was surprised by the depth of emotional turmoil portrayed in this book. This story really tugged on my heartstrings. Gavin discovers his wife of many years has been faking it in bed...yeah, quite an ego-buster. He reacts badly and things between he and his wife Thea escalate into the land of ...more

Professional baseball player Gavin Scott is desperate. After an argument left them not talking to each other for a month, his wife told him she wants a divorce. He's staying with a friend when he is approached by some of his team members about joining their secret book club. They read romance novels in order to understand what women want. Gavin is very leery about this approach to his relationship with Thea; but will try anything to get his wife and daughters back in his life.

Both Gavin and Thea

This is a wonderful contemporary romance. Told mostly from the male point of view, it is warm and funny and just a great story. The audio version was fabulous and the narrator was great with his different voices for the different characters. I am not a fan of contemporary romance, but this one was a joy to listen to. It was highly praised by a ŷ Friend and I'm glad I took her advice.

I had to start this book over. I started this book on Feb. 14th and only got 64 pages in and stopped reading it. I picked it back up on March 1st and started from the beginning

This book was SO SO GOOD!!! I have been in a discord reading group and there was a girl there that stated that if a book had sex in it then it shouldn't get more then a 3 star rating. I disagree. Sex in books is fine but it's the amount of pages they use to give us in great detail the sex scenes and we get it, really we do

This was such a fun story. It certainly had some serious themes to it, but was written in such a fun and humorous way that once I started it, I listened to it whenever I had a chance. Gavin Scott plays baseball for the Nashville Legends. With all the traveling, practices, and other commitments, it seems he and his wife, Thea, have been drifting apart. It is when he realizes that she has been faking satisfaction when making love, he loses it and stomps out of the room. Thea, frustrated and sad th ...more

There was no way that I was NOT picking up this book. The blurb is so intriguing. Men reading romance to enhance their understanding of the world? I'm in. This was a sweet and sexy story and a little heartbreaking. In highlighting the aspects of romance that make it so great, it makes me appreciate the genre that much more. Backstory is everything!

The author moves back and forth between the story of the h/H and the book the hero is reading (a regency romance) with fluidity. This is re

I loved this book. It was a great example that marriage is hard work and requires work to maintain strong marriage. I loved that the guys used romance books to solve problems in their relationships. It was a cute story.
