3.5 Stars For some reason (and I can't quite put my finger on it) I didn't enjoy this book in the series as much as I have the previous books. Hopefully the next book in the series will prove to be a more engaging read once again. ...more

I listened to this one and really enjoyed it. Lots of cursing though.

Davenport is called to help Lily and the NY police find Bekker who escaped from prison. He is killing people in the Big Apple and the citizens needs it to stop. Lucas is also there to find the vigilante group that is killing people. It is felt that is a police officer and he was called to help with the Bekker case and also work undercover with the police to see if he could discover what is happening.

Lucas Davenport gets a request from my least favorite character so far, Lily Rothenburg. I expected to hate the story, but I loved it. Dr. Michael Bekker escaped to NYC after killing his guard. Unsurprisingly, he is back to his evil ways of killing and torturing his victims horrendously. The cops need Davenport鈥檚 knowledge to track him down and hire him as a consultant. While in town, Lily asks Davenport for help tracking down a group of vigilantes.

Book 4 of the Lucas Davenport series and a continuation of the storyline involving Bekker the baddie from Eyes of Prey. This book takes Davenport to NY to assist one of his old flames on the Bekker case in addition to investigating the "Robin Hood" killers. This book was pretty good. The mystery aspect kept me guessing. I enjoy reading about Davenport but his many women conquests drive me nuts. ...more
