I listened to this one and I really enjoyed it even with all the cursing and other devious acts by the participants.

This takes place in Wisconsin in the dead of winter. A family is found murdered and the sheriff of the county thinks he needs someone a bit more experienced than he is because they don't have murders of this kind in his county. Lucas is sent for from his cabin by the lake in Wisconsin and he agrees to help out during the special circumstances.

I don't know what it was about this book that had my mind settling on a three-star rating. Maybe a 3.5, but not a 4.

Perhaps it was because I read it in smaller amounts at a time, but whatever, I do hope that I will like the next book in this series. ...more
