This book is such a page turner. I kind of don't like how fast they sometimes went through the parallel worlds because I wanted more details about it. Except the Russia world. That one was long and I was honestly over it. The romance is great and that plot twist! Poor Theo.

I'm torn between liking and loving this book, but for good measure, it's getting a 4/5 on ŷ.
Margueritte is the daughter of brilliant inventors who have invented a way to jump between parallel universes, along with their lab assistants, Theo and Paul. But as soon as they make their big breakthrough, their one perfect Firebird disappears, along with Paul, and Margueritte's father drives off a bridge in a rigged car accident. It was actually better than I thought it would be by the end. I'm surprised I didn't predict what would happen this time but it actually took me by surprise.
The story is definitely a romance book and sci-fi mixed together. I personally love science fiction topics like this inter-dimensional travel, also time travel and books like Jumper by Steven Gould.
Some parts annoyed me with the romance but I don't want to get into it here because of spoilers. The world building was good. I enjoyed seeing ...more

Plot: ★★★★
I’m familiar with time-travel, but NEVER have I read about hopping between parallel universes! Imagine having the ability to hop into the next dimension over from your original world (while staying in the same timeframe), arriving in the body that version of you and taking over their life...things may be almost identical to your original life or they may be completely different! It’s trippy! Add a murder-mystery subplot to figure out alongside the main character and you’ve got a ...more

I have read every Claudia Gray book and none of them has sucked me in or made me as excited for the next one. Plus I am not typically big on sci fi type fiction but this was a little reminiscent of Dr Who, not because Marguerite is going back in forth in time but that the different dimensions could be static, far behind or way ahead. Ms Gray did a great job of answering questions, I know this because I told my mom, a die hard sci fi nerd, about the plot and even she was impressed by the lack of

This book was such a fun adventure! Traveling through dimensions-it was so interesting! I honestly was never bored for a second when reading this! There were elements to this story I never saw coming. It was creative and I didn't want to put this down once when I picked it up. I now plan to read the rest of Claudia Gray's books. I didn't want it to end!

3.5 It leans too heavily on the romance and the science is lacking (for a multiple dimensions themed book), but I was entertained for the most part.
