I am haunted by humans

And for my annual harrowing read, this book broke my heart into a million pieces, made me think about who shapes history and what reaches our ears and eyes about it, and created wonders about the stories of the people who were lost, those nobody told, because they were deemed not important. The Book Thief is a really, truly amazing book. Let me say first, it is not a light read. Next, you have to be willing to give this book thought. It is not a "beach read". It is not as light as some other books you might read. No, you have to be willing to fully appreciate this novel.
