I am glad that I gave this book a second chance.

I dnf'd years ago due to the second person, present tense perspective that just rubbed me up the wrong way. Luckily second person was used sparingly and I got used to the present tense.

Once I got over that I was able to absorb myself in this original and creative book all about magic and the imagination. The author does a great job of portraying setting and bringing the story alive for the reader. On that count I cannot fault this book. I did, how

I loved this book, it's more of a "slice of life" almost, standalone. The writing is beautiful and really transports you to the setting and wishing you could yourself walk around in the circus. It's rather lyrical though in a way and ev

You know when a book desperately wants to become a movie? That’s what this felt like.

I heard that this book is no plot, just vibes, and I think that is an accurate portrayal. The thing is I NEED plot. Without it, I feel entirely bored and like I was white-knuckling my way through 500 pages of descriptions. I understand why people loved the flowery prose, but this was just not my thing.

I can see why my mother couldn’t finish it. It is a slowly plodding on storyline often with little change from one chapter to another, but as someone who knows what it’s like to be filled with wonder and imagination, of things people can’t possibly imagine or begin to understand, I loved it. I believe that’s how most people will feel after reading this. They’ll either get it or they won’t.

The Night Circus is quite possibly the strangest and loveliest book I have ever read.

(May write a longer review at some point but what can I really say about this book... Read it and you will be mesmerised by its stunning poetry, magic and extraordinary characters).

An interesting read with a different type of written style I definitely recommend for those who need a dark tempted laugh. This is a great story or live and growth and family. I recommend this as a read for 2019.

I'd modified this from a 3 star to a 4 star, it has just become one of my favorite go-to-reset books. If I need something to get me out of a reading slump, this one is one of three books I gravitate toward. ...more
