This was a powerfully emotional read. The narrator’s voice created true intimacy with the reader, drawing me into the circle of these young friends so that I could touch their pain, hope, grief, confusion, love. Never did this author need to tell the reader what to think or feel, rather he allowed us to accompany the characters and trusted the story to the reader.
