This is a beautiful picture book adaptation of the book Three Cups of Tea, which is a true story of an American nurse who made a difference by helping to build schools in 3rd world villages in the Middle East. Like the people of Korphe, who let nothing go to waste, the artist was inspired to create the vibrant and colorful collage illustrations from found papers and objects. This true story is inspiring.
The media and style of illustration in this book really fit the story. I loved the illustrator's note about how he chose to incorporate practices of the Korphe people into his art. As far as collage goes, these illustrations appealed to me more than those in Tsunami!, perhaps just because they were more vibrant and clear.

This is a synopsis of Three Cups of Tea written as a nice picture book. I am happy to see one more book that shows another culture and speaks to peaceful solutions to problems.
This picture book adaptation is enhanced by both the collages and photographs.
